Great place to stay while in Astoria. It's not a "luxury" hotel, so don't expect that. But it's clean and convenient and sits right on the water for a beautiful view! We checked in late, but the front desk employees were happy to give us advice on what to do the next day. We started our day the next morning by walking across a pier to a coffee shop on the water. You can really walk anywhere from this hotel. Parking is free of charge and the room was spacious and comfortable.

We booked this hotel so we could enjoy a beautiful sunset from our room balcony. I give the room a score a 90. Couch and ottoman had stains. Pillows were less than. It was fine for us we only stayed one night. Sunset was beautiful and we enjoyed the balcony. Added bonus was enjoying the sea lions barking.

Good location; the only positive. Room was directly above the pool so we heard kids screaming until 10:15pm. Front desk said they could switch us to a different room in the morning for the rest of our 7 night stay. The next morning, the front desk man offered a room then said he had to make a call first, came back 5 mins later and said he "didn't want to move us and risk double booking so we'd just have to deal with it." Ironically, the rest of our stay was on a second reservation so we came back 10 mins later to checkout of the first reservation/check into the second and asked if we could have a new room for the second reservation, then as if by magic he suddenly could put us in a new room. Talk about non-existent service. Also, the first room's bathroom light was out and had ants. Both bathrooms smell like urine. Morning coffee cream option is only artificial creamer, no half and half. Wont be back.

The location of this hotel was what we enjoyed the most, river view. Our room was tidy (lacking cups and glasses) , but, the breakfast room had chairs that were quite dirty. I cleaned one of them with a wipe, then, noticed there were numerous others in the same condition and chose not to continue with that project. (This is the reason for the cleanliness score of poor) . Our room would have been more comfortable with another chair since we enjoy just sitting and watching the river. Staff was polite, especially the housekeeping staff ,whenever we saw them while coming and going.

After checking in for a 9 day stay I was woken up the next day to a call asking why I wasn’t checked out of my room. I was then told that they had cancelled my reservation, and I would have to move to another room. I asked to specifically make sure that my room matched what I had previously booked and after being told it was the exact same, I found myself in a room half the size that clearly didnt match. The service personnel blamed system errors while trying to accommodate my stay. The personnel that helped me seemed uninterested and like I was causing them an inconvenience when I was the one that had been cheated.

Room 210 has a loud, persistent droning from the mechanics in the wall which permeates even ear plugs. It could have been a lovely stay with a balcony and a river view. Instead it was a sleepless nigh**are.

The check in was awful. The people were nice, but they didn't seem to be able to figure out what was going on. They didn't know if the room was ready. They couldn't get the electronic key to work. The systems they work with didn't seem to work.
