The hotel is currently under maintenance. The hotel is on the river. We arrived at night. You can see the Interstate (Washington State) Bridge at night, and the bridge from the terrace during the day, which is more comfortable. The breakfast is good, you can have breakfast while watching the sea view, I like it.
The town is not big. Astoria Column is a place worth visiting. The $5 parking fee can be parked for a year👍. There is a small gift shop next to the Column with good jewelry. You can buy one or two as a souvenir.

The young lady who checked us in was super nice and went out of her way to get us a bag of ice.

The settings for the tub/shower were hot or scalding. The manager, Barbara, accused me of calling her maintenance person a liar when I complained that I could not run a bath for my two kids, or take a shower during my stay, because the water was too hot and there was no way to get cold water out of the faucet. She said it was a case of user error and that I was wasting her time by complaining about this before hanging up on me. I would say that the photos of this hotel are outdated at best, or disingenuous. The facility is pretty shabby and is way past its prime and is in need of a refresh. The rooms are not at all as pictured. The rooms and furniture are old, worn and outdated.

I knew what i was getting when booking this property and chose it because of the low price and marina location. I didnt realize that it was not walking distance to the downtown area or that it was quite so old. On that note, the rooms were as clean as they could be given their age, the beddjng was new and comfortable and the pillows were great. The room had a large mini fridge and a microwave with a front row seat to the marina and bridge which was quiet but beautiful if you like that scenery.
We checked in on Christmas Day and they staff was super nice and accomodating.
They do have a continental breakfast that 2 of us went to (put of 4) and it was super simple, fine but missing meat.
Over all it was worth what we paid, we felt safe and we were comfortable.

I've stayed here 4 times now and every visit has been enjoyable. the views in the balcony rooms are amazing! and every time I have come to this location, there is something new and improved. last time it was the new beds, this time it is the beautiful bathrooms!

The people on-site tried their best to make sure we were comfortable but off-site management/ownership decided that saving a few $s was more important than providing what was promised on the listing. Breakfast had few options with protein (sausage and egg "patties" running out over the NYE weekend. Don't expect any bikes to ride either. They won't even install shower curtains which prevent water from flooding the bathroom floor. Noises from water running in the walls kept waking us up all night. Nice view but not great. Good heater though!
