We stayed here one night. Hotel was designed by famous architect Calatrava so impressive from the outside. Room was big, bed and pillows comfortable. Service was friendly and efficient. Amazing breakfast included in the price. The outside structure is showing signs of wear and could be touched up. The room itself had some signs of wear but did not detract from our stay.

It is about 5 minutes walk from the train station and the bus station, and about 10 minutes walk to the city center. The sound insulation is not very good. The upstairs is the home. There are children. They will run around during the day. There is the sound of the train passing by at night. Fortunately, it stopped in the middle of the night. I broke a cup and the front desk said that I didn't let it accompany me.

I love the character of this hotel, its charm is special and the rooms have a class. This time I was disappointed by the continuous passage of people from a colloquium, the noise of the rolling plate of the room service and I had neighbors especially the second night when I heard everything: their discussion, their physical noise, their television. It was hell, and I realized I was in a larger room, a passage through a simple door communicated with the next room (109/107). The hotel has a very good location, and it is very good for you to find a good location. On the other hand my room was quiet, but without double glass, the goods passing the night made me a party! The restaurant Mil Cent is in the centre of the hotel, with a nice restaurant, good products, pleasant reception, excellent iberic jam, Dilmah tea. Firstly the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful! And that isn't the case in all hotels! We felt very welcome. We were even offered a kettle and hot drinks making stuff - without us having to ask! We were given good advice about where to eat in town. The underground carpark is easily accessed and easy to negotiate, once we knew where we were going! Lift access directly into the hotel. Our room was clean and very spacious. Plenty of storage space and everything that should be in a hotel room was there. Breakfast was very adequate, although I didn't sample the cooked food. The waiting staff were polite and very helpful. Access to the city was easy, and although I think we would be challenged to be able to walk to the cathedral in 10 minutes (as advertised somewhere!). Allow at least 15 minutes, plus a couple of hours ”shopping time” on the way! The old parts of the city are interesting with little squares and occasional markets to be explored. What else is there to say? Very good value for money!

The hotel as a whole is a beautiful place in a wonderful location. The first impression was great. Friendly and welcoming check-in. However, once details come up and they are not resolved, it becomes annoying. Rooms lack basic amenities like tissues, cotton buds, cotton pads, nail file (amenities that are standard in a 5 star hotel). The same room types, which cost exactly the same per night, differ in the amenities that are available in some and not in others. We have 3 rooms of the same category. For example, there is full body mirror in room 203. But a mirror in room 202. (Same room type.) There is a long full-length mirror in 203 and 103 and there is none in 202. There is also a coffee maker in 202 but not in the other 2 rooms.. these are small insignificant details. The biggest problem is not the lack of amenities but the lack of attention because there is not enough staff. It's really a ”one man show”.... In the F&B areas. At the reception... no one answers the phone when you need reception and the coffee at breakfast only comes after breakfast has already been served... feel sorry for the poor staff, they are overworked. However when you need something done in the room... you can call and call, they might apologise but no other solution is given other than a room move. Which on a holiday is not very practical. The bathroom blinds in room 202 are damaged, no one even tries to fix it. In room 203 the windows do not open (faulty) maintenance does not check the condition... only solution is a room move... it would be nice for at least a gesture of finding a solution... I hope the people in charge read this because the place is beautiful, it has a lot of potential and it would be nice if other future guests could enjoy it and not be annoyed by small details that add up and become a burden during the stay.

Very ample room with a lot of space if you travel with kids and very good price/quality ratio. I cannot give any opinion on the breakfast since we did not book it. Very helpful staff. Location is convenient close to both Oviedo and Gijón and views are nice. You have space around for parking even in August.

I was only planning on staying one night, I ended up staying for three! My room was so comfortable and peaceful, and it had the most gorgeous view of the water and the castle. It is located near stunning beaches, lovely nature, and the incredible beauty of Northern Spain. I loved my stay here and I look forward to returning one day soon!

Hotel céntrico y cómodo, cercano al puente romano, en la plaza del pueblo, junto al Ayuntamiento. En la trasera hay un parking grande pero es de pago hasta el sábado al mediodía, aunque hay zonas cercanas para aparcar gratuitamente. El personal de recepción es agradable. La habitación muy amplia y decorada con gusto, parece renovada, un baño grande con ducha y bañera gigante. Las almohadas son cómodas y la cama grande pero en el centro había cómo una diferencia de altura, es posible que lo formaran 2 colchones de diferente grosor o 2 somieres con el ajuste de las patas diferentes. También dispone de un sofá que se convierte en cama. Las persianas tienen tecla de subida y bajada automática. Tv grande con muchos canales. En el baño, en la zona de espejos hay poca iluminación y es escasa para maquill**** o ver con nitidez la cara.... El desayuno variado con fruta, yogures, cafés e infusiones, zumo y bollería industrial pero sabroso y embutido. No hay huevos, ni bacon ni similar, pero está bien y es suficiente para salir desayunado del hotel. Si vuelvo por la zona repetiré. El hotel dispone de bar y restaurante, que tiene buena pinta, con terraza, y se ve frecuentado por los lugareños.

We stayed on June 2019. Great hotel at an exceptional location. Because we were three we booked a junior suite which has two rooms with two bathrooms and a living room where an espresso machine was our salvation on the quest of a Cuban coffee. The best of the room was the views from every window, you could see the entire Basilica and the Santina cave from the room. Breakfast buffet was really good with variety and quality. Staff nice and professional. The proximity to the lakes allow you to wake up early and visit them before the entrance closed (Summer time). I really recommend Gran Pelayo Hotel.

Un lugar increible para ir en familia, a un pasito de la playa (todo un lujo) Con amplia carta y un excelente menú, bastante completo y el desayuno tipo buffet con todo tipo de cosas,fruta,bollería,salados y sección para celiacos que mi hija lo es y se agradece. Maquina de café recien molido, una pasada no tomar agua chirri. Mi habitación amplia y limpia. Personal amable y educado. Un pena marchar de dicho paraje.
