The one thing you won't forget as you enter this hotel is to wear your mask 1 There must be five signs between the door and the checkin in counter !They are clearly serious about spreading Covid this way! Hope you don't like creamer with your cup of coffee in the morning ! Not a single container of ANY type of creamer available ! Plenty of sugar and artificial sweeteners ! Not ONE Damn creamer ! The desk manager says there are no individual creamers just large bottles of creamer in a fridge that can only be accessed by employees ! Oh , and just Hazelnut and French Vanilla. Not one bottle of the most popular creamer people use in their coffee! So wear your damn mask but let's have everyone share the same bottles of creamer ! Don't you just hate stupidity ! I can literally throw a rock from the hotel to the Sam's Club location ! How much management skills does it take to send someone to Sam's Club to buy some damn creamer ! While I'm at it :. The air conditioner in our room sounded like a freight train when it came on, the deadbolt on the door did not work, the hall corridors were hot as hell the flush mechanism was messed up on the toilet and the room did not smell very pleasant ! In the history of my travels this is the worst review I have ever posted and I assure it is well deserved !

Place is great and people are fantastic! Stay here all the time. They have made many upgrades and continue he to do so. Highly recommend staying here. Like it so much I am usually booked 3-6 months in advance and stay weekly!!!

GGuest UserThe hotel location was perfect because it was close to UGA and downtown area. However, we wanted to watch the Olympics on NBC. NBC was blacked out because of some dispute with direct TV is what the hotel told us. When ever you take a shower, water gets all over the bathroom floor because there is an open gap underneath the shower that causes water to disperse all over the floor. The ac and heat unit is very loud when it runs and if you are a light sleeper, good luck getting a good night sleep. The breakfast wasn’t anything special and would have rather paid for a better breakfast than what they provided. The hotel wouldn’t honor the total price that I booked with thru a third party and asked me to call them when I got home instead of adjusting the price and honoring it. They charged me $ 20 over what was booked.. I would not stay there again based upon these issues.

GGuest UserI have stayed in many hotels across the U.S. and the Springhill Suites Athens West is by far the best experience I have had to date. I cannot overstate how welcoming and attentive the entire hotel staff was during my stay. The people working at the front desk went above and beyond to make me feel at home away from home. John, Isabella, Juan, Chris, Patrick and Rachael all greeted me every time I walked by. When I asked questions or needed assistance, they all responded quickly, professionally and thoughtfully. Their customer service and professionalism is excellent - and far exceeded my expectations. Alex, the maintenance professional, was able to fix my window cord quickly and he was incredibly respectful when he came by to make the repair. Priscilla and Cecelia are fantastic. They were the two ladies on the housekeeping crew who attended to my room, and to come back into the room after they had cleaned was literally a sigh of relief. Linda is a gem! She was a joy to see early morning and works so hard! Tangie also made the mornings special, asking how I was doing and if I needed a gluten free muffin, or anything else. I can't say enough about how comfortable I felt in the room. The whole experience was 100% positive thanks to all the people I mentioned above. They have set the highest standard for hospitality and I would definitely recommend their hotel to anyone visiting Athens. It was the perfect ”home away from home” oasis.

SSightseer18919614055Let me tell you about Broc and the level of service he feels is appropriate for this hotel. When I arrived, there’s a parking lot to the right that says “no hotel parking”. I proceed past the front lobby where they have a couple signs marked “loading and unloading only”. I continue to proceed to a gated parking entrance. Expecting to press a button for a parking ticket, I instead find a call button. You cannot get in without a key. I can’t park without a key. I press the call button … again … again … again … again. After the fifth time, a van behind me is blowing his horn. He’s behind me. The bar is in front of me. I’m unsure what he expects me to do. Finally, I call on the phone and get the front desk. I explain it’s raining hard, my car is getting soaked inside and I need to get in. Right at that time, the man in the van behind me gets out. He’s an employee and tells Broc “I got it Broc; we’re good.” He could have helped sooner but oh well. I make my way into the parking deck. I grab my bag and proceed to the door. This time, I find the door is locked and requires a key to get in. Go figure. Again, I have to check in to get a key. Hilton and many other hotels allow you to use your phone as a key. Here at IHG’s Athens Indigo, they aren’t as advanced. I need a key to park. I need a key to get to the lobby. I can’t get a key until I’m in the lobby. I’m no *****; I get there’s a solution to this problem. People are inside. I don’t know that solution though. It’s storming outside and I’d hope/expect there to be a way to check in without dodging rain bullets. NOPE. I call again and get “wonderful” Broc again. I tell him I’m in the parking deck but I don’t see how to get inside. Here’s where it gets fun. After that statement above (verbatim), he tells me, “If you can’t figure it out, I can just cancel your reservation and you can go somewhere else.” WHAT?! Not sure who made his day horrible, but he’s decided I’ll be the one where he evens the score. I tell him I can figure it out if he just tells me the way in. Once inside, I see Broc standing there not helping anyone; just waiting. I walk up and he asks how he can help. I directly but not rudely say, “Actually at this point, I would rather just have a manager to speak with and get me checked in.” Broc is having a bad day; I don’t want to be a part of it anymore. Life’s too short. Broc responds (no kidding … exact words), “I’m not getting anyone for you and you have 6 minutes to get off the property before I call the cops.” Let’s pause for a second. I’m not some huge person or a physical threat of any kind. I’ve said NOTHING to him at this point to warrant the continued escalation. However, I also know he can (for any reason) call the cops. So I start out the door. I am here at the hotel as a presenter for the company hosting a conference. (BTW, lost sales in that I won’t be back after this.) I’m not interested in his power trip or dealing with out-o

We were at the Hampton Inn in Athens, GA for almost a month due to being displaced while home renovations were happening. We also had our large dog (friendly pitbull) with us and never expected the friendly faces who not only greeted us humans, but also treated our dog as a valued guest! The lobby, gym, and breakfast area all got renovated while we were there and the room we stayed in was practically brand new. The shower was roomy and big, the general manager, Cassandra, had THE BEST team, and how can you go wrong with complementary waffles and fresh coffee each morning? The cleaning/ maid staff were super accommodating of us and the dog, and we’d take her to the park on the days they came into refresh the room and bring clean towels. I never heard neighbors - even on the busiest of UGA game weekends. Hands down the best accommodations we stayed at during our renovation hiatus (and we had just come from the Hilton Garden Inn for almost a month before checking in at the Hampton - both were nice, but I’ll recommend Hampton for my out of town visitors!) I’ve included a few photos of the room, but most have our dog in them because she is family too!
