The bar counter is very practical. The room was very clean. The breakfast place is about 100 meters from the apartment. There are many restaurants around. It’s very convenient to eat anything you want, and the pharmacy is also very close, making shopping very convenient.

While Athens continues to develop into a world class destination, it is the people that make any visit special. I had the pleasure of experiencing two different rooms at the Sir Athens this week. Both were extremely well designed and comfortable. Checking in was simple and a special thank you to Theodoris, who personally made me feel welcomed during my stay.

Sir Athens is not a hotel strictly speaking but a set of rooms, in fact no reception, no breakfast room just a series of doors. To have a concierge you have to call and someone from the neighboring establishment will come and welcome you. (So if you don’t have a phone you are on the street). For breakfast you have to choose the day before from a list and take it either in your room or go to the neighboring establishment in question (3 minutes on foot but be careful because you have to take stairs) Apart from that the rooms are large, the bedding and soft pillows, no bathtub but just a walk-in shower. Be careful, there is no storage solution other than hangers and a bar. The hotel is central and bus lines going to the center pass along a perpendicular avenue. The experience was a little too special for me and I don't think I'll go back.

One of the best things about this little gem was the staff, ranging from the lady who tidied our room to the receptionist and the boys serving our breakfasts. Thanks guys! The breakfasts were delicious! We stayed here twice for a total of 7 nights, had a lower level room with a small courtyard. The hotel is in a great central, yet quiet area, close to the metro and a 10 minute walk into the main city square. There are a lot of eating options close and at good prices. A favourite was Alex's Fresh Pasta that was only a few doors away. Would definitely stay here again!
