We enjoyed many things about Acro & Polis. First as many others have said is the kindness of Sakis, the owner, and Costas, his son. Both are extremely helpful. Sakis arranged a cab pickup at the airport and another to the Port of Piraeus when we left. This was our first time in Athens and they made it easy. Second was the rooftop deck below the Acropolis. The view up at the Acropolis is fantastic, and was only exceeded by the sunset over neighboring cafes. Acro & Polis is near restaurants, shops, and is a 10 min walk to the Acropolis “side entrance”(recommended entry). Cafe Plaka is next door for coffee and many restaurants are within minutes by foot. One comment on Plaka and neighboring Monastiraki. Both are touristy, but we are tourists and enjoyed it. Many, many places to eat and walk. The Aphrodite apartment was comfortable with a double (queen?) bed and a couch which we used as a bed in the living room. We took meals in the local restaurants and did not use the kitchen, but we appreciated the water, juice, and fruit provided by A&P. Heating/AC units are in both the bedroom and living room. The bedroom has a window with shutters you can open for fresh air and the living room has a small deck. Both overlook the narrow street. Some graffiti, but it’s minor and not atypical. A heads up that google maps shows a front door that is not the exact entrance. The entrance is maybe 10-15 feet to the left and a few feet up a short walkway. It’s easy and obvious once there and I’ll post a picture of the entrance with this review. I am very glad we found and stayed at Acro & Polis.
