We were fortunate that we found this small boutique hotel on our return from Cyprus. We’d stayed on our April arrival at a hotel a short distance away, but the price had jumped considerably in May, so I searched and found the MiraMe. Lucky me, is what it should be called! The flight back to ATH from Cyprus was a bit late, so we didn’t have a long wait to transfer to our room. The most marvelous Eleni was our first indication of the quality of this establishment. She took us into the bar area and explained the breakfast menu, signed us in and gave us our key card. We headed up and she followed with our bags. It’s not a huge elevator, hence the second trip. Once in the stunning room, #102, Eleni explained how things worked, showed us everything we’d need and told us to ask if we required anything. MiraMe owners, if you’re reading this, the first impression we got was wonderful. Keep her if you can. In fact, all the people we met that worked in the hotel were great. Now, the breakfast; I usually prefer to serve myself at breakfast, which is my favorite start to a long day, but the quality of the offerings and the service made this one an exception. We’d made our choices the afternoon before, but had no idea of what to expect. If you stay here, expect the best. It’s unlikely you’ll be hungry at lunch! Unfortunately, we had an early airport transfer and missed the second morning. They fixed a packed breakfast, even though we didn’t request one. Service, from beginning to the time you stroll out the door to your next destination. Lastly, they gave us the address of a testing facility to perform our COVID test for our return home. I sincerely hope that when someone reads this in the future that it’s a distant memory, and they have to Google “COVID” to see what I’m referring to! It was a cheap and rapid test. For you ice cream lovers, there’s a shop across the street from the hotel! The Acropolis and the Agora are easily reached in two ways from the hotel entrance: left towards Monastiraki Square, the busy way, and the less busy, right out of the front door and a left at the square that’s close by. That’s a suggestion from Eleni! Stay here if you can!
