Wineport really is a piece of heaven! The whole team work together to ensure your stay is made as special as possible. The service was excellent, the food was of a high quality and the location on the lake leads to a very tranquil stay. Put Wineport on your wish list and you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I work in hospitality so its not often I can write a review like this. We booked this property after I saw unique stays in Ireland on Facebook. They mentioned the luxury cruiser was peaceful and romantic and it sounded like a great way to start our our Ireland vacation. We stayed for 3 nights and it was fabulous. Their manager Norma runs a tight ship (literally) and the staff is phenomenal. We have stayed in 4 other properties in Ireland since and by far, this one had the best hospitality. We are looking forward to returning next year. Athlone is a great midway place between Dublin and Galway so you might want to consider booking there. Its also home Sean's Bar which shouldn't be missed!

Whilst on a boat for the weekend we booked dinner here for 4 and it was excellent. From the moment we moored we were looked after, we had drinks in the bar and then a very relaxing meal in the very comfortable restaurant, the food especially the steaks was amazing. The staff are really friendly and very attentive. After our meal we sat in a gorgeous gazebo with a log fire over looking the lake it was just fabulous.

Haven't been to the resort in 20 yeas - so we were looking forward to the trip. The hotel is a brilliant design using what is a small plot in a clever way. The staff are lovely and very attentive. But a few things were a bit of a let down. We were expecting a fine dining experience - and the food is good. But in our minds the food was the signature of the place. When you seen the menu it was like something you would expect in a lower budget early bird - but not at early bird prices. Portions were fairly small - there was definitely good meals - but not exactly top top class as we expected. We went to the bar for a cocktail after - but there was a wedding on - and the bar was taken over - 16 euro for what was supposed to be a Champagne cocktail - genuinely lacked bubbles and just had a hint of raspberry in it. The wedding was grand - they were having fun - but I'm not sure the location is big enough to have it going on - when guest are paying top notch prices. Music went on late - but look - I'm no party pooper. We got to use the small pool / plunge area - but again we have been to most top resorts in Ireland and the idea of paying to go to such a small facility and be in a very tight time allowance - is a tad ridiculous when you have paid big money to go - even the bikes were considered extra - all a bit penny pinching in what is supposed to be a top class experience. Breakfast was lovely ingredients - but again, a bit cool for my liking. Anyway - lovely staff trying to do great things - great views and nice size. But it is a bit behind the likes of Monart and a few other top resorts.

We stayed in a room 109 for 2 nights. It was our 1st trip away in a long time. The room was exceptionally small and pokey and we rearranged the furniture as best we could so as not to be constantly bumping into things. The room had a lot of midges in it from the lake & was very warm but we couldn’t open the door for fear of more midges. I couldn’t get an answer on the reception phone & eventually went downstairs to seek out a staff member. Got a senior looking man at the desk and I asked if he’d any citronella candles for the midges. He said he’d never heard of anyone complaining about midges in the rooms & wasn’t familiar with citronella or any solution to rid the midges?? Useless! Food was good but not cheap. Nice decorative touches to the room and overall it’s a nice place but small in every way. Also there’s no walk around the lake possible.. you can only walk on a country road which is well trafficked & dangerous. Parking is tight. Would drop in for food if passing by but not for another stay. .

Where do I start with this most wonderful place. This is a must for all to go & enjoy the very best Customer Focused venue in Ireland. We stayed for 1 night but it was not long enough. From the moment you arrive you are greeted by the best of the best. The staff here are a credit to the place. So friendly & nothing is too much for them. A special word to Rian at the Hot Tubs & Anne In the Spa. There is nothing you could say a bad word about. Their attention to detail is fantastic. All the staff are so friendly they make your stay Special. The amenities are all you need. The views across the lake from your room are so Calming. The cleanliness of everywhere is second to none. And as for the Dining from Dinner to Breakfast is some of the best food you will every have. We will defiantly return & tell all about this piece of Heaven on earth.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so special,  Welcome drinks on arrival, all staff so friendly and accommodating- no request too big or small and so forecoming with suggestions to make our stay as relaxing as possible, special mention to Chris , he is the happiest , most helpful, energetic host. We did the hot tub the evening we arrived such a fab experience,  like being in another world and the addition of the glass of bubbles added a touch of luxury , and even the outdoor room with the stove to relax in after was lovely and gave us time to chat to other guests, special mention to Conor - super friendly, helpful, literally would do anything he could to make your experience as relaxing as possible. The bar atmosphere is so relaxing, table service , warm, friendly chatty staff, beautiful food and it was fab to watch the changing colours of the sky n lake through the Evening and night - didn't catch the Carmen's names 100% but Curtis and maybe Dan were fantastic, lovely chats , friendly and again couldn't do enough for you ! We also had spa treatments , the staff n the spa again so friendly and really go the extra mile to male u feel special and get the most of your visit , the baths outside were a fab way to end our visit and we have to give highest compliments to Anne , she is an absolute treasure, her lovely smile and personality are infectious ❤️ The restaurant again is fab , so relaxed , staff jolly and friendly and gave an added personal touch to our experience by bringing the menus outside while we had a drink and even took our orders outside so we could soak up the beutiful sunshine and didnt stop there .. the dessert plates saying Happy anniversary we a fab added touch , highest praise to Jason and Kahn (I think) there are two guys that are at the top of their game🎉 We had a beautiful room, very comfortable, great shower and the balcony was a beautiful place to start and end our day's,  taking in the beautiful views of the lakes n boats. The lodge is gorgeous, and each staff member really gives this place the special touch. It's quiet with even being booked out, it's tranquil,  peaceful and soo relaxing - exactly what we wanted for our anniversary getaway - thank you, can't wait to come back again and again

Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening in Wineport. 2 friends on a much needed night out. Sat in back bar overlooking the lake, sunset, the lot! Had a beautiful meal, and very well looked after by Glen. Seamless service. Would highly recommend.
