Center Street Value Inn

Building has secured entrances for safety. Room was clean and sufficient for my needs. Location central to where I needed to be. The building is aged and staffing was short handed, but all my needs were met.

At check-in, the door card didn’t work. I went back to office and the front desk lady swiped on a machine and said it should work this time. But it didn’t work. She said we had to ask her to open the door every time we came back to our room! On the booking page, it says this hotel provides breakfast, but didn’t, which provides wrong and misleading information to customers. Also, inside the room, there was a nice balcony. However, the door couldn’t be latched. It was such a terrible experience at this hotel.

We needed a place to stay overnight and this place was one of the last available under $300 a night. I didn't have high expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. The last time I did something like this - the hotel was really bad. The Center Street Value Inn was great for the money (compared to the $300/night options). It was clean, simple, and exactly what we needed. There are some signs of wear but it was very clean with a fridge and microwave in the room. The bed was very comfortable. We had a nice little deck off our room overlooking a field. There was fast wifi. We didn't watch TV but there was a couch and a big TV if you wanted it. If you want a relaxing family vacation, it could be fine for a launching off spot but if you need a quick place to stay in Maine, it's excellent. The one real con was that they listed free breakfast but due to COVID, you got a medium coffee coupon for Aroma Joe's. It would have been nice to get a coffee and a pastry/sandwich but oh well. I would go back here.

Poor maintenance: Light bulbs burnt out, lights not working, Drapes not properly hung about to fall off, Furniture poorly arranged in haphazard fashion, Lumpy mattress not supportive. 2. No elevator. 3. Rate should be 1/3rd less.

lower quality motel. Several construction type workers sitting and standing around parking lot. The price of this motel was reasonable, but not a quality motel.

Run down room not clean

Stayed here on a brief trip up to the area for a friend's wedding. Was looking for a place that was on the less expensive side as I would really only be there to shower and sleep. The room was clean and well stocked but very much had the vibe of being stuck in the 70s and trying to hide that fact. On the reservation it said it included breakfast but there wasn't any breakfast on any of the days we were there. This wasn't an issue for us as we had plans to meet friends for food most mornings. Just worth noting for those planning on having food at the hotel. Overall served the purpose of what I needed and met my expectations.
