A fab hotel. We stayed in the Residence across the road from the main hotel with a large group of like minded Aston owners. The hotel was ideally situated for our tour and all the visits in the area with ample parking underground and above ground. The hotel room was large and well equipped with a large shower room. The only down side were the automatic sensor lights under the side tables which lit up the room during the night when one of us needed a visit to the bathroom and the bathroom had a sensor that lit it up. It was daylight, so we had to cover each with a pillow. Not a well thought out idea. However, everything else was superb. The breakfast was a buffet with someone cooking omelettes to order. It had a full selection of cold meats, cheeses, fish, breads, croissants as well as bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, pancakes etc… The staff throughout our stay were friendly, efficient and very helpful. We would definitely return and would highly recommend

Very nice and attractive from the outside and in the lobby area. The professional and very friendly staff deserves special mention. The same is true in the adjoining restaurant. Very attentive staff who know their job. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant, hence part of this review. The downside: the room, which is significantly overpriced at €135 per night without breakfast. 40cm to walk on either side of the bed, very poor soundproofing from the neighboring room. I woke up and thought my wife had already taken a shower, but she was from the next room. The furniture was still good, but of simple quality and in the style of the 80s. If it weren't for the good staff and the good breakfast, it wouldn't be 4 points.

I only needed the hotel room for one night (unfortunately). I found everything I needed. The breakfast was excellent, so you start the day (the journey home) well and content. One notable point, however, is the shaving kit provided. This can be used to easily catch up on your East Frisian high school diploma if necessary.

Great rooms! Huge bathroom! Friendly staff! Beautiful building! And all of this right in the middle of downtown Aurich! We stayed at this hotel for a weekend and can only recommend it. If you like something a little more chic, then it's definitely recommended.

The hotel is centrally located. There are enough parking spaces, including in the underground car park. The hotel has a newly completed annex. The rooms are large. There is nothing missing here. The service is good. The very good breakfast buffet is worth mentioning. We would be happy to come back.

Arrived as a group, single room in the main building, very small, no storage for suitcases, very small closet. If you want to air the room or sleep with the window open, here are some tips: very loud all around, due to construction sites, delivery traffic, parties, celebrations, smokers under the window until late at night. Very positive: the cleanliness of the room and bathroom!!!! Breakfast was OK, dinner not good! Suspected: ready-made meals, poorly decorated, lukewarm, some overcooked vegetables, tough, desserts like they came out of buckets. No discreet clearing of dishes and cutlery, clatter. Service staff did not seem motivated, but very stressed.

The Hotel am Schloss is very centrally located in Aurich, just a few meters from the beginning of the pedestrian zone. The rooms are really very nice and spacious, the staff is mostly very friendly, but not all are equally attentive. On the last day of our stay the waiter who served us the night before wasn't there and you could tell. The sauce for the main course was forgotten (and unfortunately not given later) or something was offered that I had previously reported to the hotel that I couldn't eat it. On all other days it worked wonderfully. You can see how it really depends on the attention of individual employees, who definitely identify more with their job than others. We also drew the young receptionist's attention to the billing at the reception that she had miscalculated by almost 100 EUR to her own disadvantage. We noticed a hotel employee very positively, who even helped us to get an East Frisian product, which we really wanted to buy, but unfortunately couldn't find it immediately. Despite the two minor inattentions, we really enjoyed our stay and we can imagine going there again.
