The Line Austin

What a terrible experience all around. First, I booked a "lake side" view and got a view of the next building. Second, I was charged $28 a day plus tax for "Amenities". When I called to ask what those where some ignorant chick said "It's like paddle boarding, scooters, you know, every guest gets charged for it", and then she hung up on me. I didn't use the mini fridge, and they didn't even have basic muffins or juice for breakfast so the amenities are BS. The decor is marketing as some hip, eclectic "vide" but its just and old building. The elevator smelled disgusting, and the carpet was so worn out I don't think they've ever changed it.

The room's AC was inconsistent, difficult to find the right temperature. The room we had was right behind the elevators so it was hard to sleep hearing them going nonstop til 3am. The bathroom was also extremely dark and hard to even see yourself in the mirror.

Everything is good except it doesn’t offer free water

This hotel is pathetic. If you’re looking for is the feeling that you’re in a jail cell with no light and 7 foot tall ceilings. This is the place for you. Additionally, you get TVs with wires hanging out all over from them that look like spaghetti sticking out of the wall with no furniture. You looked through American Express that says you should get an upgrade when you arrive, when you arrive, you can see clearly on their website that all room types are available, and they will tell you that you have to pay for an upgrade, even though it is part of the American Express hotel collection benefits. This hotel should not be considered in any way. I would rather stay at a motel six. The air-conditioning in the room did not work. The people did not care that these were problems.

Only one elevator was working and air-conditioning felt like you were in Europe. Hope you like to sweat

While the common areas and Mexican restaurant are nice, the rooms were a little sad with dark lighting, spider webs in the corners, and the deal breaker was the walls are paper thin and we heard our neighbor all night long. Check please!

Beautifully appointed room along the water with a view to downtown. Super comfy bed. Loved the bathroom and shower. To me a five star stay. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We stayed at The LINE Austin for one night to celebrate our anniversary, and overall we had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, Valet was quick to greet us and get us in the right direction to check in. Peyton at the front desk made us feel welcomed with a friendly attitude and excellent service. The check-in process was smooth, and our waterfront room was the perfect romantic touch for our special occasion. After settling into our room, we discovered the Apple TV wasn't working. We called the front desk, and someone came up almost immediately to fix it, which we really appreciated. The quick response and great customer service made a big difference. The only minor downsides were that the room only had one robe instead of two, and the clothing steamer wasn't working, which made it a little difficult to get our outfits ready for date night. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend The LINE Austin for anyone looking for a relaxing stay in downtown Austin close to everything & lady bird lake. The beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, and attentive staff made our anniversary celebration memorable.

Had an amazing experience with our two kids. Staff was universally friendly and responsive. Accommodated all our requests including timely room cleaning, extra bedding, etc. room service breakfast was delicious, as was the food at P6. Spent a ton of time at the pool, which is a great setup with full service bar. Will come back every time we visit Austin.
