Good hotel, great vibe and service

Great hotel. Modern, clean, but with a lot of character. There is a great restaurant on site, along with with a separate cafe for genuine barista coffee and breakfast.

My experience wasn't awful but it wasn't amazing. For the price point of $300 per night maybe I expected a little more pizzaz in the room. It was too dark for my liking. I will say everything was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom looked cool, front desk staff was great, I was just a little let down with the overall room itself.

Obsessed. The Carpenter was beautiful, cool, charming, down to earth, and quickly became one of my favorite hotel experiences ever (and I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels). It is so quintessentially Austin in the best way possible and I can’t wait to return.

Location wasn’t expected. Amenity fee was not disclosed when booking through aa portal, nor was it mentioned during check in, and was handled poorly after the fact.

dorm room and that’s not a good thing, cement ceilings, brick wall and cement floors, the bed was so low to the ground and my back still hurts. There’s no microwave, no bucket for ice, no ice machine no vending machines. There’s a fridge but it’s full of drinks we didn’t touch. There weren’t even tissues in the bathroom. There’s no shower curtain it’s just open, for water to go all over the floor. For the price, I do not feel like I got my moneys worth at all. It was not worth it at all. Will not be going back. Friendly staff but the hotel was not what it seems online at all. Hallways are open to the outside so they are very hot. Not a pleasant experience

I had a conversation with my brother and we both loved how this place felt warm, inviting, and very unpretentious. We loved the off the street coffee lounge and accessible restaurant. Although I was under the weather during my stay, this place really did the trick and picked up my mood. I will certainly visit again!

We would highly recommend staying at the Carpenter Hotel if you will be in Austin. The hotel is conveniently located and within easy walking distance of some good restaurants, shops, a park, and other amenities. The hotel has lovely, friendly staff, great food, a fun pool, and safe onsite parking. Our room was very clean as were all areas of the hotel we visited.

Must go! Truly a magical experience. Great food and beverage. They make all their pastries at the coffee shop and you can tell, coffee cake was amazing. The cocktails were refreshing and delicious. Breakfast was fire and set us up for the day. The pool is lively and fun!
