The Westin Austin Downtown

Big rooms but hallways and elevators were dirty. And there was a party in one of the rooms on our floor until 6am Monday morning.. people running up and down hallways, etc. Not ideal

Rooms are nice sized as is bathroom. Room has laptop safe and mini fridge, two important necessities for me as well as a small couch. I needed a straight back chair due to back issues and front desk did accomodate. There is a bar/restaurant in the hotel. Check- in was easy and staff very friendly. The housekeeping staff was always available and so pleasant. The hotel is directly across the street from Antones night club, excellent live music. And 5th St Diner is just a block or so away. Cons: the room had a musty smell (febreeze and lysol helped), phone in room did not work and oddly enough Uber dropped off at hotel however would not pickup from hotel, had to go one block down-- which i thought was strange. All in all hotel is clean, lots of food trucks next door as well as other food options close by. Great spot for entertainment too. I would stay again

Azul Rooftop Bar is incredible! Sabrina, Ank, and Maggie were awesome! Very friendly and great service!

This hotel is located within easy walking distance of everything Austin has to offer. Customer service was stellar. Limited food/drink variety/late night options here, but there is also a small food truck park next door and plenty of food options within walking distance. We stayed in a corner suite, and the extra space was nice. Bed was comfortable, and room was very quiet, even during a heavy thunderstorm. The bathroom, while clean and updated, was a bit wonky with only a single vanity, but it did have a big soaking tub and separate shower. Water pressure was great. The bathroom door has a frosted glass panel, so that means that anyone sleeping will be disturbed by the bathroom light. No shelf in shower for personal items and not enough hooks/rods to hang robes/towels, but we made do. The rooftop pool area has nice views and the bar staff was friendly. Beware that the pool and bar area is very small, so on the weekends, it may be packed. The meeting rooms are great and the banquet and AV staff were very attentive and helpful. While there are fancier/more unique hotel options in the city, The Westin is a great place to stay to access the city.

Outstanding experience. The staff sets the place apart. From Cody at check-in to the team in the lobby bar, I felt truly at home for a week. I have stayed at the JW and the W in Austin and would strongly recommend the Westin over both.

GO. TO. THE. ROOFTOP!!!! SABRINA & MAGGIE were amazing and so attentive…highly recommend!! And the views are stunning!

Johnny made our stay so much more memorable. From the moment we met him, he was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely excited to share his favorite local food recommendations. We ended up trying two of the restaurants he suggested, and they were honestly some of the best meals we’ve ever had. The next day, Johnny remembered us and asked if we had gone. When we told him we’d actually tried two of his recommendations, he was absolutely elated and said, “That makes me so happy.” You could tell he truly cares about helping guests have the best experience possible, and his enthusiasm was contagious. Employees like Johnny make all the difference. His warmth, local knowledge, and genuine passion for hospitality turned great meals into lasting memories. Thank you, Johnny, for going above and beyond!

Been here plenty of times for work and leisure. Every time it's exceeded any expectation.

This was our first time in Austin, and we loved it. The hotel decor fit the “Austin vibe”. Rooms were clean, great views. You can walk right down to 6th street or walk to Rainey street. Great rooftop pool. When our flight was delayed they were very accommodating.
