This large building served for many years as a salt warehouse, storing salt from the salt flats of the Franche-Comte. It was then bought by Mr. Maxime Forutne who gave the Hotel its name.

We were enroute from Burgundy to Paris. The hotel has character, unlike the typical chain. The building is old, and this creaky floors are all over the hotel. We didn't get a view of the canal, but I can imagine the rooms with a view of the canal would be much more pleasant. We had rooms facing the parking lot. We only stayed for one night, and didn't really use any of the hotel facilities. The bathrooms are small....like almost unable to turn.

Hôtel bien situé, accueil top, petit déjeuner parfait, chambre supérieure très décevante, petite, la route passe juste devant l’hôtel et l’isolation n’est pas bonne, salle de bains petite avec wc non séparé. vue sur rivière masquée par des arbres. je pense que le côté arrière est plus calme. une petite rénovation serait la bienvenue. dommage…

Fantastic location, excellent customer service check in , so/so on check out (she did not seem too interested) Parking good ( paid extra for it) Breakfast Ok ( paid extra , but would not do it again), Bed comfortable, Room Clean, Linens/towels soft. It was unusually hot weather so we wanted the central air on. It did not work Few at front of building was wonderful, but loud all night with people talking on the street which was weird because there was no restaurants or bars open. Car drove past all night long too. We would stay again and just fell in love with Auxerre.

The friendliness, availability and elegance of the front desk staff is remarkable and appreciable. The location of the establishment is absolutely ideal, the services excellent. Only an effort on the bedding could further improve an almost flawless experience.

Hotel located in a historic, well-maintained building in a beautiful area of Auxerre on the riverfront, below the historic center where are located of major monuments. Very friendly staff, I recommend booking parking first because spots are limited and alternative options not exactly convenient. Rooms are well kept, but for my taste a little too outdated

Hotel very well located on the banks of the Yonne. The 4 stars, it seems to me that it was before!!! We are waiting for the next refresh. Pleasant elevator. A mattress that was not comfortable and certainly not new, I felt like I was sliding from head to toe all night, no window with insulation but, so much the better, no noise even on the street side where we faced. On the other hand, no pressure for the bathtub. So we took a shower stuck to the shower bar because there was no water pressure and there was an old-fashioned shower head. Clean room. The breakfast at €17 was filled with quality products, with a very nice cheese platter, excellent artisanal salmon, etc.!!! Nothing to complain about, just a big congratulations. And a smiling and friendly welcome, it’s a pleasure to be listened to and to be considered a customer, and not a stranger.
