Very good.

This is my third time staying here. The experience in the first two times was very good. This time there are some problems with the room facilities. The mattress is very old and uncomfortable, and the water in the wash basin and bathtub is not smooth. The front desk staff was as friendly and courteous as ever.

Very basic hotel, very old and dated. Bed was comfortable but sheet had a few stains on it. It was ok for one night and in a good location.

It was very convenient for local amenities and parking was good. The room was adequate but cold because the heating didn't work. The temperature of the shower was fixed and the bathroom light was temperamental.

Staying here is a bit like turning back the clock and I liked it a lot. The historic building and decoration will not be to everyones taste, but much is in keeping with the style and period of the surroundings. In such a place, there are an inevitable number of shortcomings, namely no double glazing and no aircon, the latter might be more of challenge on humid summer nights, and some of the fixtures and fittings could do with some touching up, but there is a certain charm throughout, indeed old world English quirkiness might well describe it. The friendly and very good humoured staff certainly need a mention, from the warm welcome on arrival and the cheery send off at reception, to the cheerful and helpful breakfast service. I found the bed to be a little too soft for my liking, but everything in the room was clean and the shower worked perfectly well, as did the wifi. If you only like places with clean lines and the modern decor of the big international hotel chains, then this place is not for you, but I enjoyed my stay and would be very happy to return.

I acknowledge this hotel is old and quirky with sloping floors and old world 'charm' but I have stayed several times when travelling with work and the bathrooms often don't work well - lights, mouldy smell, mouldy shower curtains, inconsistent water pressure and temperature, and the bed are not very comfortable either.

The Rose & Crown is well located in the centre of Tonbridge, giving Best Western the opportunity to highlight its close working team ethic and decent breakfast to all overnight, weekend, or longer residents. However, the morning breakfast was only part available, with the ‘heated’ items also cold, from being left in old steel, poorly heated servers. Many breakfast items were unavailable, having not been replaced following early start residents taking them in the first sitting. This included tea and filter coffee, mushrooms, hash browns and baked beans. Staff at the main desk were very helpful and accommodating, however staff at the breakfast l, whilst pleasant, were clearly not able to cope.
