Hotels Near Soyano Hisa Suisaikan in Azumino

We came to this hotel after a day of enjoyable sightseeing and hiking at the Snow Wall along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpen Route. The hotel invited us early to the sumptuous and marvellous dinner prepared for us. I like the minced tuna and raw salmon slices, the miso soup, dumpling and vegetable tempura. The wasabi ice cream was an energiser. I thought I would have a sound sleep at night as I was physically exhausted from the day walking but I found my body is not acclimatised to the cold temperature at this mountainous resort. I raised the aircon temperature to the maximum 29 degree and still felt cold. I should have turned on the heater but did not know how to do so. Thus, the bitter coldness woke me up on few occasions disrupting the sleep ryhmth. The next morning, I decided to go for an early morning walk at the Azumino mountain forest behind the hotel. The wind was cold and my hand was numbed as I braved my way up the slope with only a short and t shirt. Back at the hotel, I was greeted with a sumptuous breakfast of yogurt, coffee, soba noodles, nattos, croissants, salad, fresh milk and many other good food. I went for a refreshing onsen bath at basement 2 before check- out. There was no one using the onsen and I have the whole onsen to my self. What I like about this hotel is that it is located right in the mountain forest and the air is filled with so much negative ions from the numerous tall trees. The Japanese named it Shirin yoku. There are beverages at the 'oasis' but were meant for hotel members not the hotel guests. Why the difference? We felt not so welcome. The reception staff were courteous and helpful but it would be ideal if they can learn to speak English. Language barrier inhibits effective communication. We were sent to the West Wing instead of our rooms at the East Wing. We were surprised that both beer and wines were complimentary during dinner. If there is a chance, I would want to stay at this hotel but will remember to turn on the heater at night.

This is located about 5 minutes walk from Matsumoto Station Ojoguchi, and there is a convenience store, but it is in a quiet location. I think the basic structure of the hotel is old, but it is usually clean. To the front desk for check-in‥‥the front desk felt style, classic flowing and was usually a good response. The room uses a card key to enter. The bathroom toilet in the room is a bit spacious, but there is also a washlet, usually clean and amenities and attached facilities in the room are normal. (The slippers were made of cloth. There was also a refrigerator, dryer and electric kettle (no security box)) The bed was a wide single bed and the height of the pillow was just right. The network had wi-hi and sometimes felt a little slow. The meal was handmade and boream and delicious. It was a quiet, comfortable, convenient and cost-effective hotel.

Very convenient location, close to Matsumoto station and bus terminal. The hotel size is not big, the breakfast venue is also compact and I thought it was just good for this time. The corona countermeasure was also tight, and the response of the front desk 々 was very pleasant. Wi-Fi was also connected, and the dryer was also ready separately from the equipment. The cleaning is clean and you can spend comfortably overall. However, there was no outlet on the pillow Only the fact that the TV remote control did not respond well was a little troublesome (it seems that there is an extension code loan).

This was one of the more ‘traditional’ hotels in which we stayed. It was on the older side. Our room was in what was described as the annexe. It was a Nice room of decent size. As is typical in Japan everything was provided plus the extra bonus of chargers and a blue tooth speaker if wanted. It was the only hotel during our stay to provide a Nespresso machine. . Very traditional pyjamas i Liked the room as there was a lobby area in which we could accommodate and easily access suitcases without falling over them. There was a Decent size bathroom with a small bath and shower. The whole room was very clean except for some mould on bathroom tiles. The Shower is good if your height is up to about 6’ 2”. Shower head holes needed bit of lime scale cleaning to flow better. Please note- the shower is in deep raised bath. This was Harder for a short person to get in and out. I Thought I would slip so installation of a grab handle or step would be very helpful. The Beds were very comfortable and the single beds are 4’ which is a good size. The Room did get cold but good heating provided. Plenty of plugs. Room was Very quiet. Breakfast mainly traditional Japanese but some limited western food available. Very good Japanese breakfast. Public baths are on site . There is free Shuttle departing at fixed times to the station which you pre book. Suggest you book the night before. There is a small Cafe attached to the hotel with a small shop. Good atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Location within walking distance of anything you want to see in Matsumoto and the station.

We stayed 2 nights at Premier Hotel Cabin. The location is great, just across the train station. The staff are attentive and accommodating. Special thanks to Front Desk Tsunoda-san. He took the initiative to help me call the courier company for my missing package, and liaised with the receiving hotel to ensure safe delivery of my luggage. Breakfast was mostly Japanese style which we liked. We stayed in small Double room which is a bit outdated. Shower tub and sink too small and not good to use. Should get a revamp.

　Toyoko Inn Matsumoto Ekimae Honmachi is located in the central city of Matsumoto City, about 300 ｍ east of Matsumoto Station. The best attraction of this Toyoko Inn is its good location. After seeing Matsumoto Castle, we checked in early and put our car in the hotel parking lot at the same time. Since I am a member of Toyoko Inn, I can check in at ３. After that, I went out for sightseeing in the city, but it was a few minutes walk to Nakamachi Dori and karate Dori, and there were many restaurants nearby, so I could choose a restaurant for dinner. It's not a luxurious hotel because it's Toyoko Inn. However, the inside and the rooms were bright and clean, and the staff were well educated and comfortable.

It is very close to Matsumoto Station, but not noisy at all. The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is simple but nutritionally balanced. Matsumoto Castle and Matsumoto City Art Museum are within walking distance. It is convenient to eat, convenience stores and supermarkets around.

~7min walk from Matsumoto station with many food options nearby, on usual days. We went on 31 Dec to 1 Jan and the streets were empty; shops were 99% closed, except for Parco / big malls. Hotel staffs were super helpful and friendly. I loved the shoe locker concept at the main entrance of the hotel; you lock your shoes and go barefooted around the hotel. Hotel staff assisted to check on available restaurant opening hours, as well as reservation on 31 Dec since we weren't sure if places were open. Onsen (both indoor and outdoor) was the best, coupled with complimentary laundry facility (dryer at 100yen). Shampoo and body wash were all available for use. There are vending machines at the common area outside the bathroom. Complimentary ramen at night (do check with the hotel on the timing). Soba over new year's countdown at midnight was yummy. Wonderful overall experience. Will explore Onyado in other cities in future!

I stayed in the corona pass this time. The location is not blessed, but it can be said that it is a hotel with too much content to supplement it. First of all, the accommodation fee is cheap. It has increased recently in the city, but there is a large bath. You can lend your bicycle for free for sightseeing. The most important thing to evaluate is breakfast. There are many kinds in the buffet form, and most of them are not made and are thought to be handmade. There are many local specialties and I am soaked in the feeling that I came to Nagano. There are really few hotels with such content in business hotels recently. Although the cost-oriented management will be doing so, such a hotel wants to support more than heart. If you have the next opportunity, you will definitely take breakfast here.

２ I stayed for the first time in a year. The room is kept clean and I like it. I was a little worried that the man at the front desk at check-in was a little unfriendly, but there was no problem other than that. Perhaps it was a corona wreck, restricting admission to the large communal bath, only ３ lockers were available, but when I went there was no one and it was reserved. The hot water was a little hot, and I was able to warm my body in the cold waves. The air conditioner in the guest room was a little bad and it took a while to warm up. Breakfast was over ８, but there were some side dishes. I thought it was suitable for free breakfast and the low accommodation fee. By the way, the signboard light at the top of the building is off, so if you are using it for the first time, you need to be careful.
