Merveilleux parc qui vaut vraiment le détour. Arrivée par une allée bordée de grands buissons de rhododendrons. Parc magnifiquement restauré, parcours le long de la petite rivière et des étangs bordés d'iris, de fougères arborescentes... promenade au gré des arbres centenaires d'une grande majesté. Une harmonie et des points de vue très"anglais" dans cet élégant jardin. Au loin, de la terrasse du château, le mont Saint Michel offre un point de vue unique. Merci aux propriétaires de nous offrir ce sentiment d'évasion au gré des chemins de cette très belle propriété.

We actually traveled in August, 2022. This place is sensational! Just over-the-top stunning in every way. The decor, the antiques, the grounds, the food, the owners - all wonderful. We took an entire day away from touring just to stay here and read, walk the grounds, and rest. You will feel like royalty. The owners are so hospitable and friendly, and they have taken such care in restoring this lovely home to its authentic self. Wow!

Chantore was the perfect place to stay when visiting Mont St. Michel - we could even see the Mont out our windows, past the beautifully restored and maintained grounds. (It was about a 30 - 40 minute drive to the Mont from Chantore.) The grounds are well worth visiting, with well-maintained paths leading past a number of massive historic trees dating back to the 1800's and historic restored follies. The house, decorated in 18th-century style throughout, contains a great deal of beautiful antique and restored artwork, and would be worth visiting for that alone. Our suite was extremely comfortable - the bathrooms were fully modern - and our host Bernard was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. The breakfasts were excellent, among the best we have had in France.

Beautiful chateau, gardens are gorgeous, great hosts, great breakfast, I can’t say enough good things about this place.
One thing to consider is there is no afternoon or evening dining within a walkable distance. You must drive to town.

This was the highlight of our stay in France. The chateau is stunning and Bernard, the host, was very friendly. You feel transported to a different time. It is remarkable. The room was spacious, comfortable and the view of the Mont St Michel from our room was the icing on the cake. The breakfast felt like something from a movie. The absolute best place to stay.
