3 days stay with the family. The room was very spacious and generally good standard, however, a little worn. The pool area was nice with a very large outdoor pool and a slightly smaller indoor pool with thermal water. Smaller sauna area with several saunas to choose from. Eat evening buffet which was pretty boring but ok. What pulled down the grade was the flexibility of some of the staff. Had a boring experience when checking out that we will unfortunately take with us. So my advice to other travelers is to be clear and get confirmation that the staff understood the thing that is needed.

The room condition was terrible! Nothing close to the photos in the website/app!
Hundreds of mosquitos around, which was dangerous for our son who has allergies!
Only good thing was the pool area, which I think the only part of the hotel renovated recently.

It was a lovely hotel. It was very clean, and the room was great. The sauna and pool area were well maintained, and the staff was kind and helpful. I went to the Italian restaurant just across the street, and they did not accept credit cards (yes, it still happens in rural Germany). At the reception, the manager was kind and gave me 50 euros to get my driver's license back, which I had to leave at the restaurant. I will definitely go back if the chance presents itself.

The hotel has exactly the style the name suggests. It's a bit dated, and the guests tend to be older. The rooms are spacious and very well-kept. I wouldn't recommend the cocktails at the bar. They're well-mixed, but not exactly cheap. The breakfast selection is varied and reasonably priced. I didn't use the wellness offerings.

We were last here with friends in February 2025. A double room with breakfast costs EUR 150.00. Please deduct EUR 30.00 per person per day for the spa use, leaving EUR 90.00. Please deduct EUR 20.00 per person per day for the breakfast buffet, leaving EUR 50.00 for two nights. Do the critics want to stay for EUR "0"? Unlike 90% of wellness hotels, they have a 34-degree pool that can be used all day long. The Adlon in Berlin and the Bayerischer Hof in Munich also have pools that, at 22 or 24 degrees, are unusable in winter. If a parking space costs €10 a day, some writers in this forum consider it a "global problem." Long drinks at the bar cost €8.00 to €12.00, and the evening meal is around €30.00. Anyone who can't or doesn't want to spend that kind of money is better off staying home and eating the junk out of the windows. Marc Aurel is and remains a good, inexpensive wellness hotel in Bavaria. The only problem: it attracts proletarians. One request: improve your Wi-Fi.
