Bagnoles de l＇Orne Hotels with Wi-Fi

We stayed at this hotel for a one-night stopover en route to the Loire valley. Bagnols is a lovely old spa town with amazing architecture. On arrival we enjoyed a wander around the streets and lake. Our room on the third floor was spotlessly clean, most probably recently updated, with good bathroom, very comfy bed and a large terrace with a super view over the lake. We ate in the dining room which again had views over the lake. I had, basically, steak and chips and M had a chicken burger. But there were more exotic choices available. M had the gourmand pudding plate (sweet tooth) and I had the cheeses. A bottle of house Chardonnay ensured we slept well and it was a very quiet and peaceful hotel. A buffet breakfast had good choices plus the usual drink machines. Service in the restaurant was good. The reception desk staff were efficient, friendly and informative. We would highly recommend for a stopover or even a couple of nights. A hotel bar would have added to our experience and a better wifi service would have been appreciated. That you, Beryl Hotel. Je viens très régulièrement depuis de nombreuses années dans cet établissement ( une vingtaine de séjours ) car c est notre petit cocon de détente en famille qui plait à tout le monde. L'accueil est toujours aussi agréable et le lieu toujours aussi bien entretenu depuis ces nombreuses années. ( bravo aux personnels de ménage pour leurs travail discrétion et politesse) La nouveauté de la possibilité de départ tardif est excellente( 15h au lieu de 11h avec un petit supplément de tarif ) . Mon avant dernier séjour était le 4 février qui était à la hauteur comme d'habitude....eau de la piscine trés chaude le hammam en fonctionnement un pur bonheur !!...Mais cette fois ci ( le 25 mars) la déception.... l 'eau de la piscine était trop froide pour pouvoir rester se détendre et profiter des jets ( c 'est la deuxiéme fois que ça m arrive en ces nombreux séjours) c'est dommage !! Est ce du à l économie d'énergie ? J' avoue que je désirais réserver un autre séjour dans les prochains jours ... cette déception me fait hésiter... La réponse à mon interrogation de l accueil est malheureusement loin de me rassurer!! dommage ..

This establishment is a bit « in the middle of nowhere » and this is precisely why I recommend it. I use it as a convenient stop-over when traveling to Brittany (half way between Paris and Brest) or for an extended weekend stay when I want to get away from it all. Prefer the “Pavilion des Bois” which are very confortable suites that are good value for the money. There’s a heated indoor pool, and an outdoor one too, weather permitting. The restaurant is top notch. But with the town of Bagnoles de l’Orne nearby, you have a wide variety of restaurants to choose from just minutes away if French gastronomy is not your thing. Finally, this a a great place if you’re traveling with your dog.

This was our first visit to Hotel Bois Joli, and indeed the town, staying here overnight before catching the ferry the next day. The town itself, which is very attractive, developed as a spa town in the late 19th century, and the hotel building must have been one of those built at the time to accommodate the increasing number of tourists. The hotel looks put over a park in the town, and there is ample off road parking in the grounds / garden. We received a very warm welcome, and our room was very clean and comfortable, although some of the communal areas, notably the stairs and landing, looked a little tired. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the hotel, and breakfast the next morning was probably one of the best, if not the best, we have had in France. We shall definitely use this hotel again when returning home from France.
