Overall, this is a cheap hotel with middle price range. Rooms rate are between MYR60 to MYR150 per night. No elevator here. You will have to go up by using stairs. For youngsters that is ok but for seniors and old people it will be a little bit hard and and uncomfortable for them especially for senior age people with knee pain and back pain. Reception desk is at ground floor next to the main entrance. Location of this hotel is strategic because it is only 2-4 minutes walk to nearby night market. The Lahad Datu Post Office is next to the hotel building then the market is next to the Lahad Datu Post Office. If you drive a car you can park your car overnight at Post Office parking area which is free. This hotel is located in busy road.

Call the boss of this hotel crazy, we traveled in November 18, and have been commenting until now. Their inn is a bit far from the town, but super ecological, you can watch the stars at night, the boss will also chat with you and show you the fireflies. I heard that monkeys and wild boars came over during the day, which is a kind of small house. The boss's son is very cute and will chat with you. I didn’t really stay at this hotel but paid a visit when I was in town. The staff there were very friendly and showed me a couple of rooms as I requested. It is definitely in better condition than the Inn2 I stayed in. It is the newest among the three Sipadan Inns, at a better location, especially if you go to Mabul with Scuba Junkie, very close to their office and their jetty. Thought to let travelers know as I didn’t see any comment when booking hotels in Semporna. It is a tiny seafront town, everything close by but those narrow, car-lined streets are not that easy to walk through if you carry luggage on a hot day.

The shower heater doesn't work and I have to shower in cold water. The shower stall area smell of urine. The whole room smells musty. The toilet seat is dirty. The walls in the whole room and the toilet are stained and doesn't appear to be wiped. The only redeeming quality about this hovel is the exemplary staff-they are helpful and obliging. The owner of this hovel ought to be shot. I can't wait to get out of this place tomorrow early morning.

The environment here is quite good, the cabins, the resort has its own restaurant, there is also a restaurant next to it, cheap. You can report the resort's day trip and test diving certificate. The disadvantage is that it is far from the town. It takes more than 20 minutes to get a taxi. There are many mosquitoes, but there is no air conditioner in the room. The signal is not good.

Upon arrival at the airport, things just went downhill. My wife had booked a ride from Ocean Inn from the airport to their hotel prior to our arrival. Our ride never showed up even after my wife confirmed with the hotel staff. Called them and not one response after several calls. Great way to confirm everything and then leave your customers high and dry. We ended getting our own ride. Ocean Inn hotel is situated in a what I would consider a more or less slum area. I saw multiple locals finish their drinks and then tossed their trash over into the sea when there’s garbage cans just a few feet from them. There’s a lot of garbage sunken and floating in the water everywhere. Countless rats scurrying on the ground and roofs in broad daylight. The area reeks of sewage. When we checked in, the gal in the front didn’t like her job. No greetings. No smiles. No friendly service. Not sure if it’s a cultural thing that I’m misunderstanding. I felt like she didn’t want to help us. Never did. The entrance of the front desk had an overwhelming smell of mothball. In our room, my wife found strands of hair between the sheets and blanket. The room smelled mildewy. The restroom smelled like a heavily used public restroom. The shower pressure trickled. I just don’t know how some of these reviewers gave this place a 3-5 stars. Absolutely baffled!!! Overall, there’s little nice things to say about Ocean Inn except that the AC works well. I’ll let you readers run wild with your own imagination that I’m painting. I would never come back here again. Thank goodness it was just for one night stay.

The staff are very welcoming. Although it is a bit far from the town, it only takes about five to ten minutes by taxi. It is also quite far from the street. The environment is very quiet and the stay is very comfortable.

I like this homestay very much, especially the customer service Mango! It was my first time to come to Semporna, and I had to change water houses halfway. I stayed in Semporna for a total of six days, so the time was relatively tight, so I am very grateful to Mango and the housekeepers Nickson and Fei. Each itinerary was arranged on time, including airport pick-up, boat delivery, arranging speedboats to the water house to pick up the island hopping tour and send to the pier, and even thoughtfully provided pictures and instructions for luggage storage locations, which made me feel safe. The hotel has several shuttle buses to the center every day. Compared with the center, this side is quieter, very clean, and cost-effective. The housekeeper will travel with the car every time, and will appease the guests if they can't find the location, let me take pictures, and then drive to the nearby pick-up. If you don't want to wait for the shuttle bus, a taxi (download Grab) back to the hotel is only 8 Malaysian ringgits. All the itineraries were arranged before check-in, and there were no mistakes in a week. It is really the top service in Semporna! For the accommodation environment, the wooden house is very clean, cleaned every day, sleep at night, and play during the day, which is very suitable! As a homestay, it provides everything it should have. There is also a small refrigerator in the house for storing drinks and ice cream. The breakfast is also Chinese, so don't worry about only Western food. It's good to drink white porridge and pickled mustard greens! Especially on the last day, we set off at 6 o'clock, and the hotel prepared breakfast at more than 5 o'clock, which is really great! I will come again next time!
