I’ve been exclusively staying at Marriott properties for years now and this is one of the best. It is such a unique and beautiful resort which upholds the W hotel standards of quality in every feature of the rooms and amenities. First, the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. They took care of everything during the check-in process which also included a complementary cocktail. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and they were so kind in celebrating us with celebratory desserts. The food was top notch from the pool side restaurant to the Spice Market and main restaurant Venazu. The hallmark of this resort is the Chevy pickup yards from the beach that serves ceviche all day. We spent most of our time lounging by the pool in their many cabanas and pool loungers which are included with no extra cost to reserve. The staff were attentive and even provided popsicles and samples of the drink of the day. There is no need to be worried about water as the staff provided our room with bottles for both drinking and brushing our teeth multiple times a day. The one negative is that the spa and fitness center are quite far and at the top of the hill from the main part of the resort. But, they were very quick with providing a golf cart to transport us there when needed. It is also about a 45-50 minute drive from the airport. We used private transportation but the hotel will arrange a ride for a fee. Round trip is about $220-$250.

This is my fourth trip to the W Punta de Mita so obviously I love this property (and I’ve booked trip number 5 for this December). For this review, I want to focus on the AWAY spa which I visited 3 times during this one-week stay. On Tuesday, I had a fab detox spa trea**ent with Lucita and it was just what I was hoping for. For Thursday, I had noticed a special spa trea**ent involving exfoliation, a wrap and a massage - I couldn’t resist and it was the best 90- min spa trea**ent I’ve ever had. My masseuse was Silvia and she is fabulous. So fabulous that I booked her again for the very same trea**ent today. I highly encourage visitors to the W to book a spa trea**ent - it will really complete your visit to this great property. Please note that with each spa trea**ent, however long, you get an additional hour in the outdoor jungle-jacuzzi.

A**s did not work, overpriced taxi service, make sure if you can, use Uber to go to salyulita and punta de mita towns. Uber was only $15 as opposed to the $155 taxi provided by the hotel. Otherwise the grounds were pretty. Lots of food options at the bar and beautiful views.

The location is great and the property is beautiful but the food, rooms and service did not match the price. There is heavy bass music blaring truly everywhere…the rooms, restaurants, pool, beach. Additionally the jungle view rooms feel like dark concrete bunkers as they are partially subterranean with patios that are against a dirt mound.

The staff at the W in Punta Mita was very warm, hospitable, effective and helpful. They continually rose to the occasion to ensure we were served in the most optimal fashion. Our events were exquisite and the warmth, food, drinks and service was unmatched. This was our second visit to the W in Punta Mita and it was even better than the first.
