I booked this hotel through wotif, decided to pay on arrival at a higher rate as was not sure we would definitely be staying there at the time I booked it as driving through the town back home, booked approx 2 weeks prior. The week we went on vacation, we definitely thought we would stop there on the way home and intended to stay. My husband was attending the football which was a later game than thought, so I was waiting with my son to leave. I had 4 missed calls on my mobile from a number I didn’t know between 6:45 and 6:52pm. No messages were left so I assumed it was a telemarketer. I then had an unknown number call which I answered, I could hardly hear the caller and thought again it must have been telemarketer so I hung up. I then got a text message from the number called earlier saying I was banned from Ballarat for the rest of my life! I called the number back straight away and asked if it was the accommodation as they didn’t advise who they were when they picked up the phone. They said yes and that they had called me all afternoon, that I was dodgy and was never coming. They had not been calling me all afternoon, in fact when I called back it was 7:05, 20 mins after they first tried to call me. Lady was very rude on the phone, never experienced such bad customer service prior to even getting to the hotel! Certainly left an impression of that accommodation and I feel sorry for the staff that work there and anyone who comes into contact with this lady. Definitely didn’t seem like she wanted our business. Ended up staying at another hotel in Ballarat which was lovely.
