Turkiye Hotel – Free Massage

The hotel is in a good location, about a 30-minute walk from Nariman Narimanov metro station, or 5-7 minutes by taxi. Check-in was handled through the Family Hotel. Initially, they said there were no single rooms left and offered one with a double bed. After I checked in, there was a puddle on the carpet in the room after cleaning, which didn't dry even after a full day. The room also had a smell of baby feces, which turned out to be smeared on the wallpaper and hadn't been cleaned. After half an hour of persuading them that this was unacceptable, they miraculously found another double room and moved me there. Everything was fine in that room, except for the fact that it was never cleaned during my 4-day stay, and towels were changed only once, but not the bed linen. Breakfast was from 8 AM to 11 AM; it's acceptable for an unpicky traveler. The selection is sparse, but you won't go hungry. The staff doesn't speak Russian, and their English is very basic. Overall, it's decent for the price.

I'd say the hotel offered good value for its price. The only minor hiccup was that there were no towels, and it took a little while for them to be brought up to the room. On a positive note, a restaurant nearby was absolutely delicious.
