A hidden gem! Some other reviewers found it dated but I strongly disagree. It’s an elegant and well-maintained landmark hotel. A quiet oasis in Miami Beach. Jennifer and Albano in the coffee shop are magnetic personalities. Warm and sparkling pool. Great history here. Large beachfront section. We can’t wait to return. What to improve? Friendly, helpful information at check in.

We walked into a grand hotel that emerged from decades ago. This property does not have the glitz, gold & glimmer of 21st century hotels. Instead, it is elegant, tasteful and sophisticated. The pool is extra large and the staff friendly. Our only suggestion would be for improved air conditioning in the rooms. The mandatory setting keeps the temperature above 68 degrees with some humidity. Ben, at the front desk, has a constant smile and prepared to assist at the drop of a hat. Kudos to all.

This is not our first time. OK, it may be dated for some but it has All the essentials! & they are functional. For us, foremost spacious beachfront, spacious pool & pool deck , pool bar restaurant, well outfitted gym, though the equipment is a previous generation it all works , spacious rooms with a spacious balcony , inside bar lounge, classic art deco building, interior classic midtown Manhattan style, friendly service orientated staff, all away from the craziness of Sourh beach in upscale Bar Harbor,

This lovely historic hotel is situated right on the beach with pristine white sand and a dedicated cabana beach person. The hotel has beautiful details including marble floors on the 1st floor, crown molding in the rooms etc. The staff were attentive and friendly. Well situated with ready access to Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Lovely stay!

The Grand Dame of Bal Harbour! This 80 year old beauty was one of the first resorts in Bal Harbour. Nestled between The Ritz and The St. Regis,the location is perfect. My room was huge and clean. Dated of course,but I slept so well. The maids come daily and were so sweet. I ate on property and it was delicious. Excellent service and well priced. The shower was strong enough,the towels were nice,the sheets were crisp. Every staff member went above and beyond. Sea View is a rare find. I’ll be back!

Best deal on the beach
Beautiful older hotel. The staff is exceptional. The food was very good. Loved the cabana!! Bobby is the best! Pool is lovely and beach access was great. Will definitely be returning.

7 Day Sibling trip
Great access to beach. Nice pool. Building is slightly dated but is well maintained and housekeeping was very diligent and overall was a great experience. Stayed 7 days.
