Balestrand is about 1.5 hours by ferry from Flam, and we thought it would provide a nice break in our ferry journey to Bergen. It's a delightful little town, and Kringsja hotel is located in a beautiful spot. It's a small hotel with a "family feel" and a super nice receptionist. It lacks some amenities (e.g. in-room safe and fridge) and the breakfast is not as lavish as in some other Norwegian hotels. But our room was spacious and had a large balcony with a wonderful view of the fjord and surrounding mountains. It also offers a guest kitchen and washer/dryer for the budget conscious guest. A bonus is the collection of excellent nature photos that adorn the walls of the hotel!

Excellent etablissement. Grande chambre très claire et spacieuse face au fjord avec une vue sur l eau, aussi quand on est couché, donc genial. Directeur très sympathique et personnel très agreable.il y a deux cuisines pour faire ses repas : très apprécié vu le prix des restaurants. Il y a une grande salle de jeux et plusieurs salons pour se relaxer et profiter de la vue exceptionnelle.
