Adorable hotel, lovely breakfast, nice pool, amazing sunrise from the room. Especially liked the bathroom and tropical shower! Cleaning service twice a day.. polite and friendly staff! I definitely recommend this hotel for stay !!!

Just got back from an amazing stay at Maua Nusa Penida by Swiss-Belhotel! 🌴 We booked a junior suite and the view was absolutely stunning. The pool was perfect for relaxing, and the restaurant served delicious breakfast every morning. Yes, the road to the hotel is a bit bumpy, but that’s just part of the Nusa Penida charm. If you're looking for a serene getaway with your partner, this place is a gem. Highly recommend!

The Villas was spectacular amazing! Truly rejuvenating and the best place for tranquility..They have a cosy private pool for every each of the villas and I love it so much!Staffs were super friendly especially from the banquet team!I will definitely revisit Māua!😎

We came to Maua after our previous hotel cancelled within 24 hours of our arrival so trip.com organised a replacement. We hadn't looked at Penida but glad we ended up there as it was easier to visit the main island sights. Firstly, the location has stunning volcano and sunset views. They were incredible. The location as far as everything else goes however is only good if you do not need immediate access to a beach, bars, restaurants etc. There are a couple of homestay type restaurants within a 10 minute walk through what can only be described as a dirt track with many large, deep pot holes and puddles so get your hiking boots ready if you want to venture out. Everything else will need a taxi and they're expensive here. If you are happy to stay, eat and drink at the resort apart from day trips, the location is ideal. The staff were excellent. Linda gave us a very efficient and helpful check-in. The restaurant was quite slow but Ayu really looked after us, making our dining experiences more special along with the other staff. They were always very busy so i can only assume they are understaffed because it wasn't full of guests. The food was very well presented and (apart from the lamb chop which was like an old boot) mostly good quality with a good variety of healthy and regular, tasty food options. The breakfast has so many options, it was really very good. The Spa was good value and we had a very relaxing 150m treatment. 20 minute taxi ride from the harbour started at 250k. We negotiated the driver to 100k. Still more expensive than Thailand. The price of food here is quite steep and they add 21% service/VAT which is more than what you pay on Bali island. If you take a cab (or walk if feeling adventerous) to Crystal Beach, they have great food/drink options at reasonable prices. They have a no drone policy which is great, but be aware if they have wedding guests, you may have a drone flying over your 'private' pool/garden for a few hours which was very unsettling. After speaking to the manager, all was resolved quickly. We hired a taxi driver to take us to all of the east and west island sights, price 900k for the whole day (start 10am, arrive back around 6.30pm). All in all, this hotel is stunning and the rooms are great. The staff are simply excellent and we had a great experience on Penida. Thank you to the Maua staff for making the hotel a great place to stay.

My husband and I were in Maua for our short trip to Nusa Penida during our 2-week honeymoon in Bali, and we can both agree without hesitation that Maua was absolutely the best hotel we have ever stayed at, not just in this trip but ever, in terms of overall experience. Upon arrival, we were immediately stunned by how beautiful view from the hotel reception area was when we walked down the stairs from the parking lot. We started to appreciate the aesthetics of the hotel even more when the manager, Ka Ka told us about the difficulties of building this hotel from scratch, especially transporting the construction materials all the way from Bali to Nusa Penida through the small and bumpy roads on the island. And as you stay there longer and observe more, you can really tell that a lot of time, effort and thoughts have been put into the architecture, interior design and environment of the whole place. We must say, however, that all has been paid off because the execution was nothing less than perfect. Maua consists of a number of private villas which were built on a mountain slope. We stayed at Villa No. 323 at the most bottom with a private infinity pool overlooking the gorgeous Gamat Bay with a sunset view. Buggies would be arranged for sending us down and picking us up upon a quick phone call, even at 5 a.m. in the morning one day when we wanted to watch the sunrise. The breakfast was the most generous and sumptuous we had in Bali and the presentation and taste was on point. The free flow pastries were a nice touch, and the French toast was the best I have ever had. We also tried their restaurant for dinner on one night and were very satisfied with their Western options. Needless to say, and I am sure all the guests would agree, the hotel staff members were what made Maua extra special - you can just feel that everyone working there were genuinely enjoying their work and happy about their life there, and they care about the well-being of the guests from the bottom of their hearts and it really shows. To the whole Maua crew, especially our dear friends, Dinda, Ayu, and Kaka, we would like to give a big thank you to you all for making our stay so memorable and flawless. Thank you for showering us with surprised snacks, late night cakes, welcome and goodbye drinks (and even giving us the recipe for it without us asking) and your warming smiles. The lovely conversations we had and the laughter we shared will forever stay in our hearts. We are missing our stay at Maua so much after checking out and would definitely visit Nusa Penida again just so we can stay with Maua.

The hotel is located on Penida Island. The hardware and software facilities are very good. Standing on the balcony of the room, you can see the volcano and sunrise. The breakfast is also very rich. The hotel service is very good. Everyone is very enthusiastic. Very satisfied

1. We arrived at the hotel at 12:30 am and were told that we could check in at 2 pm. No problem. We checked in in advance and went out for a walk. We came back at 4 pm. Even though our luggage had been put in the room, they still made us wait in the hot lobby for half an hour. The reason was that they were going to find the key. 2. There was hair on the pillow in the room. We didn't move the bed at all. There was a long hair on it. And our name was not on the welcome card. It might be the previous guest. But the explanation given by the hotel was that they helped us change the room but not the card. They didn't apologize for this and had a bad attitude. They repeated it three times. If you are not satisfied, you can change back to the original room. What are you saying? It took more than four hours from the time we checked in to the time we went in. I didn't change the card. It became my problem? 3. The most speechless thing should be their dinner. Seafood buffet for four people 1500rmb. The best dishes are grilled shrimp and grilled squid. It is the most expensive but the worst meal we had on the island. 4. If you don't mind flies flying around while eating, just stay here. We stayed in Bali for eight days. This is not the only restaurant we stayed in that is open-air, but the hygiene is appalling. The used placemats are not wiped, shaken and given to the next table of guests. Dozens of flies are around you. You have to shoo them away while eating. During the buffet dinner, a fly fell into the pasta, and the waiter directly took out the tongs and put the tongs back for everyone to use without changing them.

The hardware facilities are good. The water is a little slow but acceptable. The complaint is the restaurant. First of all, breakfast is ordered. One main course, one dessert and one drink. Extra payment is required. The food is served very slowly on the first day. I don't know the situation. It takes half an hour from ordering to serving. It delays the trip. The skewers eaten in the restaurant tasted good. The ones delivered to the room on the second day were all burnt. Ps The restaurant consumption is not low. There is no food around. It is a long way down the mountain.

The hotel far exceeded expectations, with first-class service, SPA, and a very good private pool view. The resident singer at dinner was very awesome. He sang my wife and I's 3 favorite songs and also spoke Spanish.

The hotel is very good, with a sense of wild luxury. Nusa Penida is too bad. You need to prepare yourself mentally when you come to the island. If you cancel the spa appointment, you will be charged 50% of the fee. There is also an additional fee for children to stay, about ¥300/person.
