Staff was not pleasant or accommodating. They were slow responding to my requests. I was not happy with this service

The hotel is in the heart of Mount Vernon which is a staple in Baltimore. The ambiance and decor makes it feel warm and inviting. It was an amazing peaceful vibe. The bistro located downstairs provides amazing vibes for a cup of coffee or just to relax and unwind from the main hotel area upstairs. I do want to emphasize the “B-Side” downstairs which is a hidden gem. Tucked away behind a secret door, when you walk in the feel and environment allows one to be immersed in the feel of a true Speak Easy. This is a great hotel to just get away or planned vacation.

Beautiful decor, great location for walking around, great staff. The regular rooms are a bit small (no place to sit at a desk and do work if that's important to you) but they are beautifully appointed. The rooftop dining is gorgeous and the lobby is beautiful.

A block of rooms was reserved for a wedding. Upon receipt of email with information to reserve the rooms immediately booked our room online, had no trouble but calling front desk with questions or to make a request felt like front desk had little interest in discussing and had little confidence in the information/answers they were trying to communicate. Within a couple of hours after booking the room I heard from other guests they were unable to access the site for booking their rooms. There was a technical "glitch" that took about a day to rectify but it was disconcerting and stressful to the guests trying to book their rooms. Those guests were very concerned they would not get a reservation/room and tole me the front desk staff was not particularly helpful in aiding guests for reservations (because they want everything to be done online). It's supposed to be a chic minimalist boutique hotel but a lot is lacking - mainly storage in the bathroom. Most things have to be stored on the sink counter - that gets messy. Mattress not particularly comfortable and it felt and sounded like there was plastic under the sheets (waterproof mattress cover?), had to request a warmer blanket. Our room was noisy - not sure why - we kept hearing what sounded like a very heavy door near our room being opened and then slammed closed (storage room?). A lot of noise from the air vents - sounded like an engine humming. I attempted to book another night prior to original arrival and knew there was no availability from the online calendar. I sent an email asking if there was any possibility of a room and received a curt reply stating there is nothing if the date is "x'd" out. I KNEW THAT and was hoping someone might make a suggestion i.e. - we recommend checking back a couple of times per day or we can put you on a wait list but it seems no one thinks outside the box of simple answers. No attempt to offer assistance. The day of checkout we asked for an additional hour so we wouldn't have to check all our luggage with bellmen but they said no because it was too busy. Our bags were taken to a "storage" area and when most everything was put into the car found they did not return of the garment bags. Chaos and a lot of people loading cars, didn't know until arriving home (5 hours later) that they did not pack one of the garment bags. Trying to resolve - thus far they are trying to help but seemingly not taking responsibility and so far not even an apology.

Spacious clean rooms with great rooftop restaurant and very cool bar/speakeasy on ground floor. Great central location in Mt. Washington and room rate is a bargain. Highly recommend. Oh and no surcharge for dogs too!
