Upon check in, I called down to maintenance to have my AC looked at. The room was climbing steadily to 80 degrees. It was able to be “fixed”, and we had cold AC from about 7pm to 11pm. And then it broke again. At the same time, the duct work within the wall was rattling. Nonstop. Every second of every minute. All night. We did not sleep, it was too hot and noisy. When I mentioned this to the maintenance person who was there earlier to fix the AC, he said that it was just because the building was old. So throughout the night, we were awake, sweating and listening to this incessant wall rattle. We did not sleep. The maintenance person, who was lovely, came back that next morning and offered us a box fan. It was then we learned that this AC issue was a known issue for this room. Also, the morning after not sleeping, we asked for the manager to help us resolve this issue. She could not be bothered. We were told she was too busy with other tasks. We ended up having to check out of the hotel early to find another hotel. We were told there was no other solution to this hot and noisy room issue. All other rooms were booked.
