The hotel badly needs upgrading. The carpets look as if they have been there forever, and the breakfast area could do with some improvement. The muffins were out and uncovered, and there were no tongs to serve them. There were no forks available either Saturday or Sunday, so guests had to improvise. The bedroom was large and clean, and the bathroom was also clean. Unfortunately they seem to have a roach problem, as there was a dead one in the dining area and one in the lobby. They were cleaned out, but it’s a bit gross to see them ( little ones to be fair) upside down on the floor. Also outside the front door there were a number of dead ones. Maybe I’m being unfair, and maybe the hotel had just been treated for bugs, but one in the dining area is actually unacceptable.

I drove to MD, to visit my daughter for Thanksgiving in Towson. I stayed in one of your Days Inn in Towson MD. It was horrible, the first room I was placed in was in shambles and not the items advertised. The second room had old yellowing linen with large stains on the sheets & holes. The bathroom had an odor, black mold and was dirty. The door is not able to stay closed due to the knob hanging off and the door split open. I would not have stayed except that I checked in after midnight. The cost of the room considering the state of both rooms needs to be $5.00 because we were indoors. I have numerous photos of rust mold, sheets broken doors, mysterious fluid dripped down and stained the walls, and general disrepair. I slept in my clothes on top of the sheet that was placed on top of the dirty blanket and a towel over the pillow. I checked out and moved to another hotel in White Marsh MD for the rest of my stay. I would like to forget about this horrible stay, but they charged my card for the entire reservation which was 4 additional days and charged me an additional $93 for the night I stayed. I am now fighting with them to recoup the remaining $370 which I did not use. They are nasty on the phone and hung up on the Expedia rep when she called on my behalf. I would give them a zero if possible. I am writing this to assure that no one else gets fooled by false and misleading internet pictures of this partial homeless shelter. Oh and it is in the worst neighborhood to boot.

It is especially convenient in the hospital area. One room has a double bed and a double sofa bed. It can be opened for four people. It is also convenient to have a kitchen. The hotel's infrastructure is complete. There are ice machines and water dispensers. There is a free coffee bar.

While the rooms might have been a tad on the cozier side, they more than made up for it with their plush comfort and attention to detail. The Ulysses truly exemplifies the notion that beauty lies in the details, and the meticulousness with which they've curated every aspect of the guest experience speaks volumes. The 19th-century charm of the Mount Vernon neighborhood is beautifully echoed within the Ulysses. The delicate stained-glass skylight, the ornate crown molding, and the preserved brass postal box serve as a testament to the building's rich history. But it's not all vintage here. The interiors seamlessly transition from the ornate influences of the Art Nouveau era to a more streamlined approach, evident in the hickory wood furniture adorned with Ash’s custom textiles. And oh, those hand-beaded lampshades and embroidered quilts! They added the perfect splash of color and quirk. A special shout-out to the carved flamingos that support the bedside tables, a delightful nod to Baltimore's own John Waters and his ”Pink Flamingos.” It's this mix of opulence and eccentricity that makes the Ulysses stand out. Booking through Trip.com was a new experience for us. A bit unconventional, sure, but it came through in the clutch. The $35 ”destination fee” threw us for a loop initially, but the $20 credit we received towards our bill at the hotel restaurant (Ash Bar) or the bar (Blooms) made it all worth it. Speaking of Blooms, what an experience! The mirrored ceiling, the crimson banquettes, and the purple stools set the stage for a night to remember. In a nutshell? The Hotel Ulysses is a triumph, an ode to Baltimore's multifaceted spirit. Whether you're here for the history, the design, or the sheer experience, the Ulysses promises and delivers. The building itself on the interior is modern and relatively clean but that is the only positive. The area directly around this hotel is horrible as stated by other reviewers and is exactly if not worse as described. There is lots of trash and paraphernalia covering the sidewalks as well as people high as a kite wandering around aimlessly. As close as this location seems to the safer areas (Camden Yards/Inner Harbor), it is about 1 block further then you would hope. For people familiar with Massachusetts, Methadone Mile would be a similar comparison to this area. After parking down the street at a parking garage ( Arrow Parking, I do recommend if you unfortunately stay at this hotel) and making the 1 minute walk to the hotel, we walked past several homeless appearing people sitting up against the hotel and entered the hotel. The room smelt really weird but seemed clean enough. At around 4am, I was awoken by the sound of my room’s front door slamming against the deadbolt repeatedly by people attempting to get in the room. The people appeared intoxicated and agitated trying to force themselves in the room saying it was their room and to get out, yelling, and attempting to reach through the open space left by the dead bolt. After pushing the door shut and securing the door with the second lock, the people yelled for a few more moments then left. This is absolutely unacceptable as the staff at the desk would have had to issue them this room key to be able to unlock my door. It is absolutely ridiculous that this was allowed to happen and that there is no fail safes in place by upper management and corporate so that room cards are not issued to the same room to different people. This incident could have led to the theft of my belongings in the room when I was not there, or worse, the injuries or deaths of the parties involved due to an altercation. When I checked out in the morning, I notified the staff of the incident to which she apologized but seemed generally unfazed that this happened. I hope that no other poor tourist gets sucked into this place by the cheap prices.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 night stay at Hotel Indigo. The reception staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was well appointed with nice furnishings and was clean. The bed was comfortable. The room had 2 large windows with a city view. Housekeeping came daily and provided excellent service. The public areas/lobby were nice and clean too. The lobby has a large area with abundant seating, a large fireplace and tv. My only suggestion would be to update the tv to a smart tv for access to Netflix and other apps.

The hotel is small, but the sanitation is very good, and the breakfast is also good. The parking lot is across the road. You can park your car at the entrance of the hotel to check in. I thought it was 5 yuan to park, but when I left, I realized that it was 5 yuan to leave at 6 am. , we left at 10 and paid $18 for parking, the room had a fridge, no microwave.
