Bura Resort, Chiang Rai

I booked the waterview room and was so pleased with the size and peacefulness of the room. Upon arriving I was greeted by the very friendly receptionist who guided me and my car to the room. This resort is different than a hotel in that you have separate houses throughout the property. Each house has two rooms, upper and lower. My room was an upper one with an expansive deck on a multi tiered water feature. Upon arrival you could hear the sound of frogs, crickets, and water flowing with the smell of flowers fragrant. From the outside the houses were whimsical in design, a lot of thought went into the design inside and out. The woodwork was beautiful mahogany in intricate designs. Upon entering through the double glass sliding doors the entire corner of the room was windows that provided the most beautiful sunrises over the hills and jungles. The bathroom had a two person sunken tub by the window, and an oversized shower. There was a desk, a large counter, and closet. All lights could be controlled from your bedside at night. Each morning I was there I worked and the staff brought me coffee and breakfast at no charge to my room. Upon arrival I also ordered room service for dinner and ate at the restaurant one evening. Every meal was amazing, and very affordable, not like getting room service in the states. A few areas for improvement would be that the internet was shut off each night and not turned on until 6:30am, making it hard to work as well as using a lot of data on my phone when the internet would turn off. A second area of concern was the lack of ease in connecting with the front desk unless you contacted them through Whats App or Instagram. Multiple times I went to the front desk and would not be able to find help, as well as the restaurant. I do understand that due to covid they are very short staffed and the hotel is not full to have everything fully operational. The grounds are wonderful but showing lots of age. I can imagine how beautiful if was when new and how with some work it can be brought back to it’s original glory. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. I appreciated so much the attention to bringing food, and even coming back to wine chilled in the evening. Upon going back to Chiang Rai I would for sure recommend this place as a sanctuary to relax. If you are wanting a place to be able to walk around the city this place is not for you as it is out of town about 15 minutes. It is an easy car drive most places.

Rommai Villa Chiang Rai

Amphoe Mueang Chiang Rai Ban Du|0.93km from Chiang Rai Rajabhat University
We had a great stay in this small, upscale little property located in Ban Du, about 20 minutes north of Chiang Rai. Room: we booked the Superior King and loved it. Our room was spacious, airy, nicely decorated and had a splendid view of the koi pond and bridge. The room and the grounds had a couple of kitschy design elements, but they were more than compensated for by the lovely landscaping and artistic attention to detail. The shower and the bed were both outstanding, and there were ample electrical outlets. One issue, and it was significant: Internet through WiFi was inadequate, unusable at times, often requiring me to turn off WiFi to go online. Not a deal breaker, but definitely a dissatisfier. Staff: the family who own the villa are kind, helpful and attentive. The daughter speaks good English and was a delight to interact with. Food: each day you pick your breakfast and time to eat for the next day. A robust American platter (eggs, meats and toast) is available, as are a number of quite respectable Thai dishes. Dinner can be ordered (we didn't) in advance. A number of small restaurants border the lake, which is within easy walking distance. Location: we had no interest in spending time in the town of Chiang Rai, and had a car, so it was perfect for exploring the many sights to the north and west. Overall, I highly recommend this villa and enjoyed my 5-night stay.

Jaidee Cafe & Hostel Chiangrai
4.1/50 Reviews
Amphoe Mueang Chiang Rai
The airport transfer in Chiang Rai was ordered casually, and was unexpectedly satisfied. The little girl at the front desk made good coffee, and the things sold in it were not expensive. There was a free car to the airport and a free breakfast. It was just that the address was incorrectly located for a long time. From the airport, you can go straight for about 1.2 kilometers. If you don’t have much luggage, you can walk there. Check in and pay a key deposit of 200🐷. It’s not very convenient to have a meal nearby, that is, one night. You can leave it, anyway. A recommended hostel, there are also two cute cats, which are very comfortable to live in😌

I didn’t have time to catch a plane for breakfast. I went there early and cost an extra 100 baht.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with lots of usable space. You can park your car in front of the room. It's a one-story hotel. The service staff is very good. There are chairs to sit in the room.

Quiet place - clean rooms and beds - kind personal - no breakfast nor lunch but you can eat near the resort. Good swimming pool but small if more people in it. There is a good cheap laundry and 7 Elleven also near resort.
Teak Garden Resort, Chiang Rai

Near the airport, room + star service, the room is quite old, some ceilings are moldy. A little far from the reception. Check-in did not explain or recommend any. Add, maybe because during the check-in, there are many people in groups. The sound of closing the door is very loud. Some curtains are damaged and cannot be closed. A little ancient design The wooden floor is estimated to be teak wood.
