Just a heads-up, the hotel's name here is 'Mövenpick,' not 'Mercure' as incorrectly listed on Amap. When checking the address, look for Sukhumvit Soi 15 and disregard the name discrepancy. My friend in Bangkok recommended this hotel and helped with the initial booking. I then re-booked it myself for a night after returning from Chiang Mai, staying a total of three nights. For three guests in a twin room, they provide an extra bed. The hotel is conveniently located near Terminal 21, just an 8-9 minute walk away. They also offer a complimentary tuk-tuk shuttle to Terminal 21 every 20-30 minutes. There's a 7-Eleven nearby for essentials, though 7-Elevens are plentiful in well-connected areas of Bangkok. The hygiene and service were excellent, but I found the wooden cabinets a bit old-fashioned; I personally prefer a more modern style. There are two pools, one large and one small, on the 8th floor. The 7th floor also has a gym for a quick workout. I didn't book breakfast as I'm an early riser, so I can't comment on that. Luggage storage was very convenient; I left some items at the hotel for three days while in Chiang Mai and picked them up upon my return (paid a small fee). Overall, it was a good stay, and I'd consider returning on my next trip to Bangkok.
This hotel feels less like a hotel and more like a wellness center that was converted. The breakfast was good, but after three days, the novelty wore off. The soundproofing in the rooms is very poor, and it's not close to the metro station or 7-Eleven. On the upside, it's not in a busy downtown area. I only discovered there was a shuttle to the metro station after staying for 10 days; I wish the front desk had informed me at check-in. Furthermore, for this price point, the toilet paper and hairdryer are nowhere near the quality you'd find at an Orange Hotel back home, and it's these small details, like toilet paper and drinking water quality, that really show a hotel's attention to detail.
