Our room reeked of sewage. Members of staff told us it’s something that happens from ‘time to time’ and blamed it on general problems in the area. But it only stunk in the Annex and nowhere else. There was no offer of any help at all nor any offer of a discount for a horrible night inhaling sewage fumes in a badly furnished, shabby room. It was uncomfortable and demoralizing. Furthermore the food we ordered at dinner tasted terrible. Neither of us could eat our mains. We were expecting high quality due to all the rave reviews, but both mains had a horrible aftertaste. The burger was 2 thin and dry patties with a strange fishy taste to the sauce. You can get better burgers in Weatherspoons! The mushroom linguini tasted like rubber. Even though we made it known to the waitress that the food tasted strange, no offer came for another entree or even a complimentary glass of wine. Just as well I guess because my stomach wasn’t well after that. The staff were nice enough but, all in all, indifferent and avoidant. The bar man was out and out surly. And it was expensive too! The whole stay was expensive. The drinks are overpriced. The bar area was freezing. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I feel obliged to warn people. It’s appalling value for money and I don’t recommend anyone stay here.

We have visited the Gazelle on a few occasions and have never been disappointed however our latest visit excelled. We booked a table for our daughter's birthday it was a quiet week night and when we arrived that evening we were the only customers at the time, every candle had been lit, the whole place oozed atmosphere the service and food was exceptional, we each had 3 different courses and they were all equally as good as each others (including the vegetarian options) we actually had booked with a Facebook discount offer and the whole meal and experience was that good we paid full price with a tip as it was well deserved. Thankyou to the whole team for making it another memorable experience.

We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the food and great staff so much we ate in both nights. We had such a lovely dining experience in a gorgeous room, with friends joining us for dinner. So relaxing. Our room was lovely and looked over the Menai Straits and Bangor Pier. We will definitely be returning to the Gazelle again.

The attention to detail and the fantastic service created a memorable experience. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

Stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel is in a lovely place with good views, however the room itself had issues. The walls are thin, and everyone around you can be heard. The radiator did not work, the room was cold. The food was good, it was well presented and tasty. We personally didn’t feel that the room itself was worth the money we paid, however the location is fantastic. Wouldn’t rush back anytime soon.

We took our 90 year old dad for his birthday. Dad suffers from dementia and I can honestly say we have never been anywhere so accommodating to his needs. The staff were utterly amazing and we cannot thank them enough and to top it all food was fabulous.

We had a lovely room in the annex which was very clean and cosy. We had breakfast in the pub and we couldn’t fault it, there wasn’t a continental option, but the breakfast was hot and very tasty with plenty of options available. We also dined there in the evening and the food again was outstanding. Very tasty and plenty of it!! All the staff were very polite and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The one drawback was that the mattress on the bed was a little tired as you could feel the springs, which was uncomfortable. Maybe time to get them replaced. We would highly recommend the Gazelle as everything else was fantastic and we will definitely be back!!!

I have had meals at the Gazelle several times over the last few months. I have found the staff pleasant , surroundings clean and food excellent . I would have no issue in recommending the Gazelle as a great place to eat.

Have stayed there before, in a dog friendly room, which was really good. This time, arrived at 4:30 on a Sunday to be advised that the last orders in the dining room was 6:30. Lucky I got there early. Right, the room is small, but has everything you require, double bed is fine, but one side pushed against the wall. After I had dined, the Sunday Menu is a bit limited, but as I had had the fish and chips before, I thought I was on a safe bet. It was average, the chips appeared to the “end of day “special, fish was ok. I finished off with sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, the pudding was at best luke warm, the ice cream was very soft and not vert cold. Now back to the room, my room was at the rear of the hotel, I went to bed early as I have been up since before 4AM and have driven over 250 miles. At 10pm the guests in the adjoining room came in, I could hear every word they said, the sound insulation in the bedrooms is abysmal, the wall separating the bedrooms appears to be a stud wall. I have poor hearing, I have two hearing aids, even with these removed I could hear my neighbors snore. Breakfast, was served at 8:00, which is unusually late, but as I had dined there before and raved about the quality I was looking forward to it. Eventually the chef served breakfast, coffee was good, Orange juice good, but, ½ a mushroom? I know inflation and the cost of living has gone up, but ½ a mushroom. Toast was ok, but no jam or marmalade. The location is brilliant, parking can be an issue, especially on Sunday, cars parked very inconsiderately. Overall, I was impressed with the dog friendly room previously, but not so with room 7, it needs some remedial work. Lastly, the circular extension cable reel hooked onto the ‘wardrobe’ is not good, but you could claim it to be ‘art’.. I will be back in September, but in a dog friendly room..
