Didu's Homestay Bed & Breakfast

We followed a fairly tradition itinerary where we stayed here overnight, did a day trip to Mount ijen in the morning and then departed the next day. I would say this accomodation is somewhere between a hostel and boutique hotel. The cabins are very comfortable with air conditioning, comfortable beds, mosquito netting and private bathrooms. However the outdoor area is a bit more of a hostel/communal vibe with shared kitchen and open gazebo living space with book exchange etc. There is also a self service fridge where you record what you consume and pay at the end. There is a pool but we didn’t use it. It’s got a kind of worn but cool grittiness to it that I imagine Ubud would’ve been like before it became over commercialised. There isn’t a lot to see in this town outside of a daytrip to ijen so its position on the periphery of town is not a major issue. There isn’t however any restaurant or warungs around but a food delivery service is available and breakfast was provided as part of the booking which was delicious and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly. On the negative side we did lose water in our shower for an extended period of time which was problematic after getting back from a rainy hike on Mount ijen. Overall great value and I would recommend it to other non fussy travellers.

Unfortunately my husband and I only spend one night before the trek to Ijen The team is very friendly and cute. They helped us organize the hike to Injen/blue fire (special thanks to our guide Udini) and to order dinner since we arrived late in the evening. The place is cozy and relaxing, you feel right at home. The room was very clean and the shower huge! Thanks so much to all the team We highly recommend this wonderful place

A great homestay before the trek to Ijen Volcano. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and Wi-Fi is useable. There is also a mosquito net. Bathroom showers are hot and towels are provided. They also offer food delivery service until 9pm for very cheap which is perfect if you arrive late. Staff are friendly and location is good. Would recommend.

Didu's Homestay is like a home away from home. The rooms are big, comfortable, quiet, and I had a view on the beautiful garden. The common areas/ garden are homey, well equipped, and there is everything you need to relax, work or whatever else. The location is a bit outside from the center, but that makes it easier to reach Ijen, waterfalls, and other sights just outside the city. The hosts, Maya and Djoko are just wonderful. They have tons of great tips and are extremely friendly and caring. Definitely a place to recommend!
