Very Good
TTarik86Qarwa Palace Resort and Spa: This luxury hotel brand is renowned for its impeccable service and attention to detail. Guests often comment on the friendly and accommodating staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The room they gave us was not good enough, it looks like aback-up room when the hotel is almost fully booked. No towels in the room. The staff are so friendly, they was an error with the payment of my room via the agency which supposed to be fixed at the date of arrival not the check-out time, Edward seems to be the front desk manager and he has bad attitudes , he looks down on people and he does not even smile. I have worked in hospitality more than 10 years and I never seen such behaviors and attitudes from front desk managers. The hotel is super good and worth the price, especially if you booked the room with All-inclusive. I highly recommend it.
HHunnyExploreI had a fantastic stay at Gillieru Harbour Hotel — I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, relaxed, and honestly spoiled (in a good way).
What stood out:
• Location: Absolutely unbeatable. The hotel overlooks the harbour in St. Paul’s Bay, which means beautiful sea views as soon as you step out onto the balcony. It’s also just a short walk to lots of restaurants, bars, shops and the bus stops.
• Cleanliness & Comfort: The rooms were spotless; every day the room was cleaned and made up to a high standard, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms modern and tidy. Little touches (like fresh water in the room) made a difference.
• Staff & Service: The people working there were friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care. Reception was informative, restaurant & pool‐bar staff were welcoming and always ready to assist. It felt like a family‑run hotel in the sense that service had warmth.
• Facilities & Views: The sea view rooms are worth the extra cost — being able to look out over the bay, watch the boats, enjoy sunrise/sunset from your balcony is a treat. The pool terrace is lovely for lazy afternoons, with a pool bar, sun‑loungers, and great lounging space.
I highly recommend this and would love to come back again!
AAnonymous UserVery spacious and clean.
Staff is not always on site (a lot of automated replies via chat) but otherwise they were very helpful.
Location is close to transport (10min walk) but not much else cose to the flat. Works well as a hub to travel around Malta.
A few notes:
Be sure to request on demand heating in advance, if required. I visited late March and it was a bit cold at night.
The hot water on the shower runs out quickly for some reason, but I was alone and didn’t suffer much from that.
No amenities included, but a few small grocery shops at walking distance.
SspadgetArea seems safe and caters to tourists well, apartments are close to big hotels and other accommodation so lots of restaurants near by. The bus service is really good too. The airport is around 40 minutes away by bus.
The lobby is nice and staff are lovely.
Amenities such as the indoor pool are in another building over the road which isn't nice to walk to if it's cold and raining outside. The apartment building itself has no amenities.
The pictures are misleading, the bathroom is very old and smells musty, no hose on the shower, very small bath, TV very small, no washing machine, microwave is only by request. The water is not drinking water, the kitchen is old, broken and stained, most other furniture looks a few decades old, the room and therefore my clean clothes, smelled of vegetable soup. I'd just come from a similarly priced apartment elsewhere which was like night and day so definitely felt like I was slumming it. The bedding and towels were clean and if you just need a base, it's ok. It was peaceful at night. Oh also it was supposed to have air con but I don't think that it did.
WWeweweweThe hotel was pretty nice and staff was super friendly, however water n stuff was hella expensive since I needed it at night. The room was good,no view yet cozy, needed time to figure out how to turn AC on as it was quite an old model (used YouTube) otherwise the room was a 10/10 for the price
WWeweweweBooked again and loved the stay, easy and comfortable spot however I was disappointed at the towel situation cuz it was idk not clean or burnt I guess??there was a brownish mark, other than that I loved it there again since the staff is very helpful
GGuest UserThe hotel has a great location—right next to the train station, which provides easy access to every attractive spot on the island. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby, and you can also enjoy the sea views.
The room was perfectly adequate for two people, overlooking the pool. It was usually quiet, the beds and pillows were really comfortable, and housekeeping was done daily. Last night, our compatriots really put up a good fight.
Regarding the relaxation area, the sauna was unfortunately out of order, and the jacuzzi looked uninviting, so we didn't dare use it. The pool was okay, but only open until 6:00 PM, so if you're doing a lot of sightseeing, chances of getting a dip are slim.
We only had breakfast—there was always something to choose from, although nothing fancy. It was a simple, British breakfast that served its purpose.
SSandra Sánchez RedínThe simple but clean rooms and the charming cleaning girls. We can't say the same about the reception staff, they didn't even leave us a pen. Not all of them, but there were a couple who were quite unfriendly.
GGuest UserWe have just come back from our holiday and were pleased to stay at this hotel. Very good value for money!
FREE WIFI! With good reception in rooms too!
We had our towels cleaned every day, rooms are comfortable and great for this price we paid. Staff is friendly, breakfast is good. The indoor swimming pool is very warm, however I was disappointed that there was no sauna (in some old website listings it was mentioned that they did have sauna at some point, but not longer the case). Jacuzzi was very warm in the first few days, but with luke warm water the rest of our stay.
7 euros city tax for 2 people.
They offer evening entertainment 2-3 times a week with some live music, which was enjoyable.
The hotel is very clean and smells pleasant.
Nice cocktails at the bar.
Generally I would recommend this hotel, you get what you pay for!
CCiggy NoobGreat hotel, Affordable, comfy beds, balconies, pool in the summer months, baths in the room with unlimited hot water, Can not really find any fault in the hotel for the price I paid (21€ per night in December)
Would recommend 100%
