AC Hotel Victoria Suites

I am writing this review right now while I am in this hotel room because I am beyond irritated with the guest experience so far. After waiting 3 hours to check in (yes, we were a little early), we have a room which appears to be quite nice and we are pleased until I look out through the window and I tell my husband "Oh wow - this is not good." Apparently there is alot of construction/maintenance happening on the exterior of the building that NO ONE at the frount desk bothered to tell us about. The balcony of our room is completely unusable due to the debris and construction materials and my husband says "well, maybe as long as they're not around, it will be ok." Guess what????? About 1.5 hours after we get in our room, the construction workers are literally working on our balcony and deck area outside our bedroom. I scrambled to put a top back on because I don't know if they can see me or not while I'm sitting in the bed. You can hear their music playing if you don't have a TV or something else going. IT IS TERRIBLE. At a very minimum, we should have been told BEFORE going to our room that maintenance work is being done and that we might encounter someone on our balcony who is doing work - this is just pure common courtesy. This is the 2nd AC hotel we've stayed in during our trip to Spain and not impressed with either one, but this one takes the cake. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM IN THIS HOTEL IF YOU VALUE YOUR PRIVACY. This was not indicative of the Starwood brand and haven't been impressed with the Marriott way of doing things so far. Thankfully we are only staying overnight to catch a flight home tomorrow - otherwise I would be downstairs right now demanding a different hotel room. just absolutely ridiculous - this is how you treat your Platinum Elite members.......smh

Excellent hotel, in a peaceful area, accessible to the metro. The check in was smooth, although there were some confusing instructions provided to access my 10th floor room. The staff were very helpful in general. The room was spacious, well furnished. The bathroom was also very big with a larger than usual bathtub and full complement of essential amenities. The restaurant was lively and the menu looked very interesting, but I could not try it during my one night stay. Overall, a very good choice

I stayed here for a week and it is in nice, quiet area that is walking distance to the train. Starbucks, groceries and even a mall. The rooms are relatively spacious for Barcelona and very clean. Has a fridge, coffee maker and a bottled water. Can get more water in the gym if needed. On that topic though, for all of the space this place has on the floor for the fitness area, it may be one of the weakest Marriott gyms I’ve ever seen. Pics below. But it could very easily be made much better with a few simple things. For example, it has lots of very light dumbells for women, but not one that could be considered useable for a man. All it needs is a few of those dumbbells in place of the two of every lighter dumbbell for some unknown reason they have there, and you could at least get a bit of a workout in.. They also have all this space beside the fitness room in the pictures that has these chairs that I’m sure our never used. If they could simply knock out the one wall of the fitness room that faces this area and open it up, and then add an all in one pulley machine with chin up bar you’d at least have a useable gym. Wouldn’t take much work or addition at all and not sure why they have not done that already. Giving it only 4 stars due to this, and maybe should only be 3.5 stars as the gym they suggest in pics they have at this hotel looks nothing like they actually have.

Great property to stay in Barcelona

The hotel was ok to sleep but not many places around to eat

After book a junior suite.with a very high price (more than a purple billet/night), when I arrive at the hotel they give me a room very small that has nothing similar to the photos that the hotel shows, the room does not have a sofa or a rest area. After consulting at reception, they told me that "they are tight on availability" and that I can change if I want. But they tried to scam me, this is the big resume.
