We stayed in a 3 bed room. the room size and bathroom size is ok. There is a large common area on first floor which we could dine there. The weather was hot during my trip n luckily the air conditioner in my room was cool enough. Breakfast is simple but nice

La entrada en medio de recipientes de basua, la zona deprimida y da temor, front desk un tipo salido de un film mal vestido, no habla casi español, el lugar sucio y desordenado! Cero servicio al cliente!!!! Los pasillos sucios y mal mantenidos, la habitación relativamente limpia el baño remodelado. El piso de la ducha dañado y con filos peligrosos!!! En fin una ingrata sorpresa! La publicidad es engañosa!!!!

Was basic but clean and had an excellent central location. The female staff were excellent and helpful however the two male receptionists were down right rude and just looked like they could not be bothered. Breakfast was a basic continental selection.

Despite a number of negative comments that we read before leaving, here is our experience: We are satisfied with our stay at the Peninsular hotel...vintage but full of charm.. Our room, 419, was clean (bathroom , linen, sheets...flat) and calm despite the crowds...we were there on Saint Jordi's Day...Friendly reception staff...Decent breakfast. Hotel ideally located right next to the ramblas.

We stayed over Easter. Just one night then checked out. The hotel is old and dated. Some may call that character. Rooms are very very basic and small. Some of the rooms have poor security with un lockable sliding windows onto the atrium. I would not suggest leaving anything valuable in your room. Staff were not overly helpful and I think checking out suited both parties. Barcelona itself has a lot to see but I found not as friendly as other Spanish cities.

Central hotel right next to the Ramblas near the metro stop, excellent services, courtesy and availability at the reception, good room services with daily towel change and more than sufficient cleaning, good breakfast. A star? I'd say three

Terrible experience. Small, damp room, with a sewage smell that didn't let me sleep even though I was wearing a double scarf over my nose. Every noise came in from a window on the inside. Impossible to sleep. I won't go back again and I don't recommend it.

The positive thing is the location of the hotel close to the center. Inside it was very nice but the room was small, bare and not very welcoming. The receptionist showed little desire to work and seemed annoyed that we were tourists and didn't know Spanish. Breakfast included with the little necessary and not even too good. I would definitely return to Barcelona but not to this hotel.
