Das Hotel ist sehr hellhörig. Man hört wenn jemand im Nachbarzimmer oder eine Etage über einem auf Toilette ist oder duscht. Die Matratzen sind etwas durchgelegen.

Sehr einfaches aber funktionales Hotel. Nichts besonderes. Aufzug historisch bzw. museumsreif. Top ist: Zentrale Lage in Barcelona. Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in direkter Umgebung. Negativ: Preis-Leistung war trotz Barcelona zu meinen Zeitpunkt zu teuer. Wer einen guten Preis erwischt, zentral wohnen möchte und keinen Luxus benötigt ist hier richtig. Das Hotel liegt sehr Zentral (Paral-lel), das heißt zahlreiche Restaurants und Geschäfte in der Umgebung, das touristische Zentrum oder Plaza de Espanya erreicht man zu Fuß in ca. 10 Minuten (oder auch weniger). U-Bahn Station Paral-lel in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen. Die Lage war auch der einzige Grund weshalb ich das Hotel gebucht hatte. Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach eingerichtet aber funktonal: Schrank, Bett (bequem), Ablage und TV, Safe (gegen Gebühr), Badezimmer. Geräusche im Hotel bekommt man im Zimmer deutlich mit (sehr hellhörig). Im Badezimmer war der Duschvorhang verschimmelt, das hätte man schnell beheben können (empfand ich -für den Preis- etwas unangenehm). Zimmerreinigung fand jeden Tag statt (ich habe bewusst darauf verzichtet und dies explizit abgelehnt, lediglich einmal habe ich mir die Handtücher wechseln lassen). Bei der Buchung habe ich nicht gemerkt das es sich um ein Drei-Bett Zimmer handelt, was am Ende gut für die Größe war, aber alle Zimmer scheinen deutlich größer zu sein als in anderen Hotels in Barcelona. Nachteil war, obwohl ich alleine war musste ich (trotz Diskussion) die Citytax für alle Tage für 3 Personen bezahlen. Service gibt es im Hotel gar keinen, außer der Zimmerreinigung. Rezeption spricht kein Englisch, mit meinen wenigen Spanisch-Kenntnissen gelang dann aber doch irgendwie die Verständigung. Auf die Frage nach Taxis zum Flughafen (ich wollte eine App nutzen und wollte wissen ob diese vor den Hotel halten können), wurde mir gesagt Sie kümmern sich um eine Taxibestellung für mich, Kosten ca. 30 Euro (okay gleicher Preis wie in der App und ich habe das an die Rezeption abgegeben; am Ende habe ich 60 Euro für die Taxifahrt bezahlt). Am besten das Taxi per App vorbestellen, es kann vor dem Hotel warten und parken. Im Hotel gibt es Keine Gastronomie (auch kein Frühstück), im Eingangsbereich steht eine Getränkeautomat. Restaurants (auch zum Frühstücken) gibt es aber in der Umgebung reichlich.

First off, all listings for the "hotel" mention a "cafe" and some mention "room service". But this hotel has not had any food service " since Covid" and has no interest in changing that. The overall level of decor is truly pension grade at best. Some of the shower curtain clips were broken, leaving 20% of the curtain unattached, with stains which looked like mold. Shower rod was hand painted with chipping paint. Wood rot (years old) unattended to in the bathroom door frame. Security of the most minimal kind was non-existent. As we returned to the hotel, after being out for at least 6 hours, we just asked for our key by room number. A clerk who had never seen us, just handed us the key and never even verified our name. Guess any good thief could just pick a room number and chance an opportunity to ransack any room. Hotelbed/Bedsonline lists this hotel at 3 stars, which I would consider a fraud of the hotel not the listing site. As we departed, after a 2 night stay, and turned in our door key, the clerk at the front desk did not even look up to stay goodbye, as we left our key on the counter.

The hotel was overall basic in its facilities, but clean with comfortable beds.
Location is relatively convenient for walking or taking the metro to most central attractions in Barcelona.
Downsides were:
- Sink in bathroom clearly suffered from clogging. A tradesman associated with the hotel did attempt to fix this, with some success, but it appeared clear that the problem is likely to return quite quickly. The receptionist whom I had mentioned this problem to was unapologetic about the fact the sink was in such condition.
- The receptionist was unwilling to commit to arranging for the clearing of the sink, and at least in my time at the desk she did not make a note in writing of the problem. It was therefore probably only by way of good luck that the tradesman working for the hotel had a good work ethic.
- Related to the above issue, when I asked about changing the room to one where the sink drained adequately, I was given inconsistent information by different receptionists, leading to confusion and it becoming impossible to make the change.
- As many other guests have commented the practice of obliging guests to give their key back to reception everytime they leave the hotel is very unusual and difficult to understand. The practice does not even seem to make access to the rooms more secure, because my friend returned home one evening to find that a complete stranger was asleep in his bed!
