Aspasios Urquinaona Apartments

Very quiet apartment that was spotless. Well appointed inside with all we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. The staircase is narrow and steep so the small elevator was useful for luggage. Staff were responsive and very helpful. I would stay here again.

The apartment was clean and well equipped. I was unaware the apartment was at the back of the building and there was no natural light. Great for people who like darkness for sleep etc but if you are looking for a bright, airy apartment this is not the place for you.

Beautiful place It was an amazing place… you will enjoy the apartment. Only thing was they forgot to refill the shampoo and body soap. Close to Arc de Triomf but there is a 5-7 minutes walk from the storage place and Metro. If it is scourging hot in the summer, it is definitely a long walk especially with luggages in tow. If this is okay with you, then you will love their fantastic apartment.

Dated, tired, dirty and too many issues Travelling as a family of 4 with 2 grandparents in addition (60 years old). We arrived exhausted having been told we couldn’t check in at lunchtime. At 6pm the auto check in machine told us our reservation wasn’t valid- Que panic for by now exhausted travellers. After some help we finally got it sorted. Pros Quiet and relatively safe outside Close to central parts Air Con worked fine Coffee machine and safe were useful. Cons Room was 4 flights of tight old stairs up- challenging even if you’re fit. Not suitable for older travellers. Lift was ancient and as expected broke several times during our trip. Fixes were slow and we had to actively request help. Room was filthy thick dust and dirt on floor, shelves not cleaned in some time (see pic after 3rd wipe…! Dirty towels (pics shown after unrolling) No drawers or surfaces or anywhere really to store things, shelves too high to access- I’m 6ft3? Giant wardrobes house 6 hangers. Bunk bed dangerous for kids- no bar across top or bottom, kids kept kitting their heads on the wooden shelf part. Shower mouldy and drain blocked. Balcony aged and not safe for children/ or I’d wager adults. Roof terrace was in very poor state of repair- no working lights either. I honestly don’t know whose standards believes this level of cleaning is ok in a room but I wouldn't stay again if they paid us. Awful.

This was our third visit to Aspasios apartments in Barcelona. Whilst the apartment was convenient and the facilities were as described, and all worked, we were very disappointed that the only natural light came from 2 narrow light wells. This was made worse, as the manager mentioned when I told them I was disappointed that we were on the first floor. Whilst I understand these are old buildings and Aspasios has to make the most of them, this booking was made 5 months ahead and we were never informed that the light and airy rooms shown in the videos and on-line are sometimes not possible. We had to have the lights in at all times. Very reluctant to use them again.
