Let me make it clear from the beginning that we did not sleep here. The impressions I am conveying relate exclusively to the place, the facilities we saw as visitors and the feeling we got from our visit. To begin with, this is a traditional 18th century farmhouse and is located approximately 5 kilometers from the town of Barcelos. The residence is surrounded by large private lands, which are home to vineyards, animals, poultry, water cisterns for watering the crops, horse stables, duck ponds, product warehouses, dairy and wine factories, vegetable gardens... This is a living traditional farmhouse. , which can and does work with great self-sufficiency. The large granite pillars at the entrance balcony of the residence are typically rustic, the residence is surrounded by lush gardens with flowers and manicured shrubs, fountains, running water fountains, a swimming pool, and it also has a lovely chapel. The rooms we saw were very spacious, equipped with all the necessities, but without luxury as we are used to in modern hotels. These are simply rooms in the house which are now used as tourist accommodation. Breakfast is served in a large dining room and is enriched with local products, many of which are produced by the owners. Their hospitality was excellent, full of kindness and an unmistakable attitude of genuine service. We should note that their own produced wine is wonderful and has a unique characteristic green color! I think staying here offers an excellent option for anyone wanting something more quiet and traditional, while also being ideal as a base for your visits throughout northern Portugal.
