Barking Hotel

Booked in here as The Bank Barking was unsanitary and we had 2 hours until we needed to be at a concert. OMG!!!!! The room was unclean, the sheets were not washed from previous occupants, the shower was unusable, it was baking hot , there were no drink facilities, not even a glass in bathroom to use , the TV had. 2 pin plug so was very unsafe. We only stayed as we had run out of time to go anywhere else. We did not dare have breakfast there. This is not a hotel , but is being used as a hostel with families in small rooms , We were kept awake hearing arguments and young children crying. We did not feel safe at all.

This place is just as it advertises as - it's not that expensive and the decor on the way in is funky but the rooms are super clean and it is excellently managed. I've stayed here for a week and the central location is awesome. When I stay at a hotel I care about it being clean, safe and the staff are responsive to any issues and this place has all three. Also I'm a big guy and actually fit in the ensuite shower!

The only good point about this Hotel is the location as it's right in the centre of Barking. It's extremely near the Station and along a road with good bus routes. The hotel appears nice online. You do not get drinks in the room but at a bar in Reception on request. The hotel advertises clean rooms. We were shown one at the back of the hotel. It was so far back, we had to go outside and down some steps to a portacabin where the room was. When we saw the flies swarming around the light, we decided to leave and never stayed.

I stayed here few days to visit a freind . I'm Indian . The reception staff don't converse in English ignore you greeting so poor. Family run hotel they are Iranian Mr Ali boss owner is very dismissive, it's famiiy run hotel lots of eastern European workers that not personable the front entrance nice welcoming but stops the moment you walk in . The Iranian lady not freindly quiet cold as Iranians do not like Asians in general look down on them, Mr Ali old boss to me is. Strange man who trys to be nice but is very sly man very dishonest and pretend not to understand. I won't recommend for £50 to £70 better going travel lodge ibis even Ibis budget is so much better than this run down hostel it's dirty it smells mould the room was so dirty and no complaints system..no coffe no tea facilities in room no bath mats, no heating , Tiny toliet no ventilation. Very disappointed stay. They do not employ Indian Pakistani Asian staff as they have preduice towards them ...as I heard how they talked down to me in Persian Farsi language I understood as I speak it but they did not know. Young Asian lady applied for a job they lied to her as they do not employ Asians and they lied no jobs but went on to employ European workers young blondes that Mr Ali watches and watches very strange behaviour ....I'm sure staff turn around is high by behaviour of owners.
