Monte Carlo Motel

The Monte Carlo was a perfect overnight stop on my way to Vancouver from Alberta.

Clean comfortable

The location was easy to find and the place met our needs - overnight stop on our way from Edmonton to Vancouver. It was nice to have fridge to refrigerate the groceries I was bringing. We did not use any of the outdoor facilities- pool or barbecue and picnic tables. Although all the tools were there, I do not think the last person cleaned the grill so one side was dirty. The room was clean and okay - nothing upscale but I wasn’t expecting upscale. The only down side for me (not my husband) is I am a light sleeper and occasionally woke up to the sounds of trucks on the highway. There was a restaurant right beside the hotel which we did not try but it got good reviews. I had already packed a dinner but if I had known about the restaurant, I would have eaten (or did pick up as we have a dog) there.

WELL WORTH A STAY Super friendly staff

June 24, 23 my family and I stayed at this motel. We drove in for 1 night to see friends and we’re supposed to camp in their yard, but when we saw the pool at this hotel we chose to stay there. Parking was easy, the room was clean. We checked in at 8pm and decided to take a dip in the pool. The gate was shut so we opened it and went to the pool. It was white and murky so I decided to not go in. My child and husband jumped in …5 minutes later the owner came and said it is not open and asked why are you in there. Upon checkout I voiced my frustration politely to the owner that we only came here for the pool and advertising on the huge sign in front of the hotel and online that you have a pool is false advertising. My child was so disappointed! He responded first saying we had a extra person stay in our hotel which we “cheated”and didn’t tell him about (yes a friend came by for drinks in our room for 2 hours) and that closing the pool is his decision that he is the owner and he doesn’t need to post that online, if we wanted to swim in the pool we should have asked when we booked and again when we checked in. I asked him to post the pool is closed online to stop other children from being upset, he raised his arms and voice at me so I had to leave. I would never stay here again and would love it if people didn’t support this hotel. This is a new owner (I have heard good things about the past owners) that is rude.

Easy access

What a great location!!! The staff/owner is super friendly too! The family room was spacious, clean and comfortable.The heated pool was great for the kids! The restaurant next door was a delight also!! We will be back for sure!!!
