I was looking for a safe place to stay in the Memphis area while on the road, and this was recommended to me. My husband and I came in very late. The girl at the front desk chatted on the phone on few more minutes before turning to us. She wasn't very friendly and didn't offer us the water we usually get at Hampton Inns. Maybe not a big deal but the tap water wasn't great so I'd have appreciated the bottles. Anyway, I got about 4 hours of sleep on a lumpy mattress that was interrupted by patrons from a poolhall or bar next door yelling, laughing, arguing, and whooping at various times in the parking lot. A security SUV putted around the property all night, which is good. The curtains were thin enough that his flashing lights let me know he was nearby. The hotel was not well kept up. It did seem that housekeeping was making an effort, but there's only so much you can do when the property itself is old and tired. Common areas seemed clean. I later read through reviews more carefully and found that car break-ins are pretty regular things at this location. So it doesn't have a lot going for it. We grabbed a coffee and some yogurt on our way out. The lady at the front desk in the morning was much friendlier. However, for almost $200, this hotel was very disappointing.
