River Bend's Walleye Inn

It was quiet and clean. Seems they are updating with new flooring, paint and new bed (very comfortable) and dresser/countertop. But, there were no chairs in the room and only one bedside table for a king bed.

No chair in room. Fridge did not work - staff was aware of the issue but had not gotten to it.

Booked hotel room for $99 when we checked in the clerk told us that they don’t honor 3rd party pricing and that our room instead would be $138/ night. Came as a shock to us. It was a noisy room with heavy traffic, no insulation, and a noisy fridge for the price.

Inn was under construction and remodeling. Debris was all throughout the hallway and room was not fully put back together. This was not an issue for us, we only slept there. The staff at the inn were extremely friendly and helpful. Did the ice fishing package with the resort and that part was a nightmare. There was 3 of us in the party and we each paid for the pole rental, on day 1 we noticed once we got to the fishing hut that we had no poles. Told the guide and he said ok, got back in his vehicle and drove off. Wasn’t sure if he was returning or not. A different guide finally showed back up with a total of 2 poles, one had the handle on the reel missing. The guide then went back and grabbed 4 more poles, leaving the broken reel with us. It was roughly and hour and a half before we were able to actually start fishing. Day 2 guides did not check on us like advertised and we had to call the resort at 2pm (they pick you up to go back at 4:30pm) to ask why a guide hasn’t came to check on us. We literally watched the guide leave a different hut that a few of the guides had been parked outside of all day, come over to check on us. When he arrived he made a sarcastic comment about the possibility of moving and I replied that at least we weren’t missing our poles today. He responded with at least we got them to you. As the guide was leaving he also commented that he couldn’t make the fish bite. We caught a total of 2 fish early that morning and never was moved to ensure every opportunity like advertised. Guide came back to pick us up and the 4 wheel drive on the vehicle would not engage. The vehicle got stuck so we had to get behind it and push the guide out so we could go pick up the other clients in our group. While talking with the other parties in the group we find out that another group had the same issue, they had to call the resort to ask about the guide checking on them. The staff at the resort bar and restaurant were wonderful. The fishing part was really the disappointment. Will never go through this service again. We actually caught one walleye that was 24 inches, the 15 other fish we caught were under 16 inches. I will add that we did contact the inn manager and we are waiting on a response from the owners.

The rooms are undergoing construction with exposed drywall and hanging electrical outlets. The TV did not work and my door was unlocked and open when I arrived.

One night stay. Very nice. Will stay here again when in area.

If you are going to rent out rooms,they should be completely ready. The room was recently sheetrocked, but not taped, mudded or painted. Some outlets were still not attached to the walls.

The Hotel was nice and quiet and clean they are doing a great job with there renovation

We were told we might have been scammed upon arrival. Lady said it can take a few hours for the system to register our booking and wouldn’t give us our room incase we got scammed on the site. So we had to find some where else to sleep
