It was a gift to my father for his 50 years and he had an incredible time. He says the facilities are awesome and the food was second to none. And not to mention the excellent service! The room was immaculate and each employee was attentive to their every need. We really come back again and with great joy. !! Congratulations!!

We loved our stay at the Hotel Riu Palace Punta Cana. The wonderful facilities, staff, and food made this trip one to remember. Plenty of activities to do for various ages. The morning breakfast staff was outstanding (thank Ruby), as were the bartenders and wait staff around the pools. Definitely looking forward to returning sometime soon.

Would never recommend this resort. There was a group of 15 of us that went the 2nd week of June. Walking in the place looks very nice. We had no issues getting checked in and to our room. Housekeeping during the week was unacceptable, the floors never got swept the entire time. They refreshed our towels but never replaced our wash clothes. We had to ask to have them replenished. We would only get 2 bottles of water each day, which is not enough for two people when that’s all you can drink is the bottled water. We ended up finding some on another cart in passing and made sure we took a couple bottles each time. Our deadbolt on the door was not working so we couldn’t lock our door while in the room at night. The housekeepers would just knock once or twice and open the door right up, they walked in on my husband several times, once with nothing on as he was getting ready to take a shower. As for the room, the toilet didn’t flush properly all the time. The outlets in the room didn’t work by the bed, we had to unplug lamps on the other side of the room to plug in our CPAP machines. Our shower leaked after each use to the point of flooding the floor of our bathroom, so we had to use towels to place on the floor to prevent this. The room was constantly damp and humid which caused the bed sheets and our clothes hanging in the closet to be wet feeling. The room smelt of mold/mildew constantly. This smell in turn got into our CPAP machines and when we got home we had to soak our accessories in vinegar water and replace our hoses in order to remove the smell. The biggest issue about our room was the cockroaches that we would see, some as big as 3 inches long. We also seen cockroaches on the bar in the swim up pool, the seating area behind the swim up bar and the nightly entertainment area. HUGE cockroaches. Overall cleanliness of the resort was not good, from a distance it looks beautiful but up close not clean at all. I left my room one day to go the beach and there was human feces all over the floor outside my room. The smell was horrible, when I returned you could smell the bleach and it was somewhat cleaned up (not sure how long it laid there). Food wise the breakfast buffet never changes it’s the same everyday. The Italian restaurant was not the greatest, not a lot of choices. We were the first ones to enter when they opened on our last night there and the buffet was full of leftovers, the plates had food missing already. The pasta was less than Al dente not at all appealing. The dinner buffet had different dishes most of the time. The steakhouse was good. The sports bar had nacho cheese but never had the chips for it. Almost everyone in our group ended up with diarrhea sometime throughout the week, some were even down and in their rooms for 3 days with this. The frozen drinks hardly had any alcohol in them. The only drink that seemed to have any kind of alcohol in it was the vodka and lemonade. If you have someone in your group that ca

Vacationed with 18 others at RUI Palace and had a wonderful time. The hotel room was very clean and very nice, the pools were amazing as was the beach. Every day, we didn't have any issues finding lounge chairs and were able to set up under some palm trees for shade! The water at the beach was great and we were able to have fun in the sun! We also had opportunities to hang glide and go out on a small catamaran and kayak! The buffet was exceptional and they had every type of food no matter where you were coming from! Everyone was very friendly and nice there! The restaurants on the property were not bad either! We went to Luigi's and to the Steakhouse. At Luigi's don't order the lasagna, it's very thick and mushy but the beef dishes were really good! We definitely preferred the Buffet because you could pretty much eat something different every time and it was tasty!!! We did one of the day excursions via the hotel and it was very informative! The only downside was the shows at night, we are used to seeing some really good ones at the other Rui's we have stayed at and at this one there were not very good; however, we still really enjoyed staying there and going for walks in the evening and hanging with family!

This is not a very friendly place for families especially for teenagers. They are too old for all the kids activities and all the neon, white, pink and jungle parties are for adults over 18 only. Not a single party was geared towards families or teenagers. The food is not great and while the grounds and beach are beautiful, the rooms are just average. They seem to take a beating from Spring Breakers and college kids. The fire alarm went off 3 times during our stay waking us up each time. We also found a roach in our room so question how much they clean or spray the property to prevent this.

I gave this resort a 4 star rating simply because of the service. Every waiter and bartender we encountered was pleasant and happy to serve you. The resort itself needs some updating. While the grounds are well kept and the beach was beautiful, the rooms definitely left a lot to be desired. There were only two functioning outlets in the bedroom and the plaster on the bathroom ceiling was peeling off. The air conditioning worked well and the mini fridge was always restocked, however if you’re looking for a luxury stay, this is not the place for you. My 16 year old son and his best friend had their own room and had the time of their lives. They were able to get into all Riu parties (jungle foam party, white party, etc) and made many friends. If staying at the palace you have access to the other Riu resorts on the property and the water park. All in all , this is great hotel for families with teens but i would only return once the rooms are renovated.
