Exceptional Stay at RIU Palace Macao. The Staff Made It Unforgettable We just returned from an amazing vacation at RIU Palace Macao, and it was truly one of the best resort experiences we’ve had. The first thing we noticed was the cleanliness of the entire resort. Our room was spotless, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and every restaurant and common area was kept extremely clean. Our room and view were incredible, and the food throughout the resort was fantastic. There were so many great options, and everything we tried was delicious. However, what really made our stay special was the staff. They went above and beyond every single day to make us feel welcome. From remembering our drinks and favorite foods to greeting us with smiles and high-fives, they truly made us feel like we were at home rather than just guests at a resort. We would especially like to recognize some outstanding staff members who made our trip unforgettable: • Jhon Kely – Coral Bar • Juan – Coral Bar • Another amazing gentleman at the Coral Bar whose name we unfortunately missed — he was heading for a day off, so we forgot to ask his name • David – Buffet Restaurant David served us multiple times at the buffet and provided excellent service every time. He was attentive, friendly, and made every meal enjoyable. The team at the Coral Bar was phenomenal as well. They remembered our drinks, welcomed us like friends, and created such a fun atmosphere every day. Honestly, every single staff member we encountered was incredible, and they all deserve recognition for the amazing work they do. If you are thinking about visiting Punta Cana, we would highly recommend RIU Palace Macao. The resort is beautiful, the food is great, and the staff truly make the experience unforgettable. We will absolutely be returning!

Great trip. Food excellent. Staff incredibly warm and helpful. The entertainment and fitness staff work very hard and do a wonderful job of creating a fun atmosphere. There are daily games of volleyball, bocce, bingo, darts, corn bag toss, horseshoe, water polo etc. Exercise classes for stretching and water aerobics. Big shout out for Idaury, Urne and David. We would definitely come back. Our room was on the fourth floor and we had no moisture issues. The hallways were always being cleaned by these incredibly strong women. The beach is cleaned daily. There are plenty of spots to choose from. The overall size of the resort is smaller which initially I wasn't sure about but I ended loving the size. My only complaint is that smoking is everywhere. I wish the smokers would have their own area. I am admittedly sensitive to the stench of cigarette smoke.

This is our forth year at Macao. Went to another resort last year and came back to the Macao. Small resort makes it easy to get around. Friendly staff that you see all week helps you feel welcome. Special shout out to the entertainment staff. Willie, Richard and Alea were amazing. See you in November 2026. Greg

I had a lovely time at this hotel. Unfortunately my Sweatshirt was damaged by bleach in their laundry on our last day and I did not notice until we were on our way to the airport! I emailed the hotel several times and not a single reply back!! Would have made the trip a whole lot better if I now did not have such a negative feeling towards this unaccountability

Just returned home from Riu Palace. In our opinion this is the best way to do an all inclusive holiday.  Not having to prebook the restaurants is a great improvement. We tried Asian, Italian and the Steak restaurant and were all great with  Pre drinks at Joes bar. The buffet restaurant also had everything we needed.  We enjoyed coffee, cake and croissants at the coffee shop. Because we were in the Palace we could go to all the hotels in the resort so could always have a change of scenery if needed.  The other hotels were also great, the food court at Bavaro is worth a visit. Thank you to the man on the Omelette station, he made the perfect Omelettes. Juanna round the pool really looked after us. We had great service at the Cuban Bar from Natalia. All the staff were brilliant but didn't get everyone's name. We've never experienced anything like the Riu Parties... they are fabulous. The weather was perfect everyday. We took an Uber to some beach bars and had a great time at Papaya Bar and  Onnos bar. We had room 4021 and yes we did have pigeons on balcony but not enough to bother us. Room cleaning was first class. Our friends were given room 2091 and this had terrible damp issues but were moved the next day so this was resolved. The only thing I would add to the hotel is a beach bar like the one at the nearby Iberostar hotel. We will definitely return to The Palace.

We recently stayed at Hotel Riu Palace Macao and had an amazing experience overall! The weather was beautiful, the resort never felt overcrowded, and the service was exceptional from beginning to end. Special thanks to Amelie and Diamond at the front desk, Marco and Palano in the dining areas, Jose at the bar, and the hardworking housekeeping staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The food was great, the drinks were plentiful, and there was always something to do around the resort. We would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Punta Cana. We also booked the dune buggy excursion through the hotel and had a great time. Transportation was included, but be prepared to spend some extra time on the jitney since they stop at multiple hotels to pick up other guests. When we arrived at the excursion site, there were many locals selling souvenirs and extras, which felt a bit overwhelming at first. The excursion cost about $75 per person, but goggles and bandannas for the dust were an additional charge. The goggles were around $10 and the bandannas about $5. I used a towel we had purchased to cover my face, and some type of face covering is definitely necessary because it gets very dusty. Once the activity started, we really enjoyed it! You travel in a large guided group, and the speed is controlled, so don’t expect to go full throttle the entire time — but it was still a fun experience. A few helpful travel tips: • Bring small bills for tipping ($1s, $5s, and $10s). • Use the room safe for valuables. • Bring your own insulated cup with a lid for drinks. • Pack cards or small games for the evenings. • The room includes a hair dryer, but it’s not very strong, so consider bringing your own. There are also nearby shops within walking distance that sell essentials you may forget, including flip-flops, deodorant, feminine products, first aid items, and souvenirs. We never had trouble finding chairs at the beach or pool, although some guests reserved cabanas very early in the morning since they provided the best shade. Since we traveled outside peak tourist season, seating was easy to find. Most importantly, be kind to the staff. Even attempting a simple “thank you” in Spanish is appreciated, and tipping the workers — including housekeeping — goes a long way. They truly work hard to make your stay enjoyable!

So I was at the resort from the 15th to the 20th and I when I say i was super disappointed with this hotel. 1st thing I’ll get into is the fact my group had 4 swim up rooms and when I book the room I was asked did I want double beds or just one and for 2 out of the 4 rooms I asked for doubles and wasn’t given that the hotel made no effort to rectify the situation even said the hotel that all their swim up rooms had one bed instead we was told we could downgrade to a room upstairs no as the days progressed as I was walking pass the swim ups I seen a room that had two beds go figure. 2nd issue two rooms was under one reservation and instead of the hotel charging what the break down was for each room they decided to charge one with almost 4000 and the other one 1458 when each room was suppose to be charge 2500. And now the issue wasn’t caught on our end because the hotel charge one card 2100 at check in then two days later they charged the 1458 when we bought this to the front desk supervisor attention he was adamant that we swipe one card twice which was not the case I showed documentation of the price of each room which basically didn’t matter because all the supervisor kept saying was that we swiped one card twice. When I further explained to that maybe he and his staff should take accountability of this issue because the staff was suppose to charge each room the supervisor stated it was his staff that does the breakdown but the reservation team. When asked to speak with the reservation team the supervisor put me on the phone with a team member who informed me it wasn’t them that charge what was charge but yet the hotel was the one’s responsible when in informed the reservation team the hotel is say it’s their fault they asked to speak with the hotel supervisor. There was a conversation between the 2 in Spanish that I could not understand but basically all they did was inform to write a complaint via email. 3rd issue the RIU brand is known as a party hotel and that was far from what we experienced. While at the bar there was another guest who literally stated this is giving retirement home. The did have there white party which was dead than the pink party which I will say was very packed. Last was the neon party which we didn’t make it to but I didn’t hear anything about the party so idk if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. 4th issue The food the buffet was just like any other all-inclusive hit or miss so I wasn’t expecting much from it a bigger selection could have helped possibly. The Italian restaurant was a no . The steak house was okay my group had it twice second time majorly of the group ended up with stomach issues. The highlight was pepa which was by the pool and I have no complaints about their food . I’m going to end this long review with I’ll never return to a RIU brand I will stick to what I accustomed to which is the Royalton brand of the Hyatt brand . If whoever reads this decides to go I hope your experience is be

My wife and I decided to give Punta Cana (Bavaro area this time) another try. We stayed at a resort last year which was half way between the airport and this location. While that trip wasnt at a Riu, the vacation was nice but not great. This year we were very pleased with not only the resort, but the staff and beach area as well. It was an excellent trip and we felt it to be a very good value. My wife and I are in our early 50’s and traveled from the Northeastern US. We flew direct and stayed at Riu Macao from 4/8-4/15. We met a wide range of people from Europe, Canada, and Americans representing young couples to those enjoying their retirement years. The atmosphere was very laid back with typical events like volleyball, pool aerobics, stretching, and other games to keep guests engaged by the pools and beach. There are 3 pools, in relative close proximity to each other. The pool with a swim up bar naturally gets pretty busy but there is still plenty of area to enjoy yourself. We never once had to play the towel game. There were always seats available and I believe the resort was at capacity during our trip. At no point did it feel terribly crowded. This area was beautiful. The stretch of beach was long and wide. We did a 2 mile walk every morning in each direction. The water was mostly clear of seaweed but there was a little more on our second to last day. The resort uses heavy machinery to keep the beaches virtually immaculate. Even on the beaches there was plenty of chairs for all. We have grown to really like the Riu brand. Their staff in our opinion has been among the best we have encountered. We have stayed in Aruba many times as well as Cancun, their hotel in NYC and now Riu Macao. Their customer service makes you genuinely feel welcome. Last year the resort staff (again, not a Riu) was the main factor of us not being very pleased with an otherwise very nice resort. We were almost reluctant to return this year. Id like to thank our breakfast server in particular Degoberto and the bartender Kelvin at Joey’s Bar for remembering my decaf coffee in the morning and my wife’s espresso martini’s after dinner. There were many other very personable staff but these two in particular really went out of their way day in and day out with exceptional customer service with a smile. The dining options here were pretty good. We are spoiled with very good Italian cuisine at home so we skipped their Italian option. No reservations were needed at any time for any of the restaurants. We ate at roughly the same time every evening (around 630) and with the exception of our last night we never had to wait to be seated. On the second to last night (our second visit to Kabuki-the Japanese themed restaurant) we did have to wait an hour, but we went across the lobby to the Cuban bar and had a drink while we waited. The buffet was good with typical offerings. Each night featured a different theme (Latin seafood, Italian, American, etc…). The resort itself was immac

An extremely clean resort with excellent service. It’s well worth the money. The pool area and beach are very enjoyable, with plenty of palm trees adding to the atmosphere. You get a pass for all 4 Riu.
