[Hotel prioritizing profit over guest health] My sister was hospitalized a day before our reservation and could not make it to the trip. We explained the situation and provided proof to the hotel for the medical care she was receiving and requested a refund. Despite multiple attempts in negotiating and asking for an explanation, they denied any sort of consideration nor any reasoning and took the full payment anyways. The amount due was about $500 per person. I will never be using any facility by the Melia group.

Their service starts at the check in. Warm welcomesand big smiles makes you feel immediately safe and at home. Their facility is clean, quiet, and there's this sense of calmness throughout the facility. Their rooms are spacious with modern amenities. And the food, the food blew me away. Real authenticity, flavorful, and various assortments to choose from. I'll definitely be coming back

We had a great 10 night stay at Zel which exceeded our expectations. We had a master swim out suite which was amazing. The resort was very quiet and most of the time there was only us in our section of the pool. The mini bar was refilled daily, so no real need to go to the main bar. We stayed as a family of 3 and we had plenty of room, having a roll out bed in the living area. If you are in a master swim out you are entitled to a free floating breakfast, make sure you ask for this, since it wasn't actually mentioned at check in. I was a little concerned about the food based on the reviews but it was great. This is not a place where you can continually eat burger and fries, the standard is higher. The breakfast buffet was probably the best we've ever experienced, in terms of variety. At lunch we went to the Mexican or Beach bar and at night we visited all the a la carte restaurants. There is a machine to book in. It reopens for the week on a Sunday/Monday so best to book in then. We had no problem getting time slots but may be different if busy season. Towels were readily available at the stations by the pool and at the beach, They are there very early and there are lots of them. My son regularly used the gym and he said it was of a good standard. We used the shuttle to get to the beach, never waited more than a couple of minutes at the hotel. If there wasn't one around on the way back we just asked a member of staff at the beach to call one. We were very lucky with the seaweed situation, there was some for a couple of days but they work hard to clear it, the tractor going up and down. We had no problem getting a lounger and parasol but again it was quite quiet. It was disappointing to see front row loungers reserved with towels and the people not arriving until 11am and then tipping the security guard. Due to the limited number of loungers etc, the hotel should put a stop to this. Craft activities were held morning and afternoon. They were well attended and it was great to sit at 5pm with a cocktail and paint a tote bag etc. Jasmel & Danya did a great job of organising it. The staff were great everywhere. We are non Spanish speaking but we did not feel we were treated any differently and in fact I think the staff enjoyed speaking English. Two members of staff particularly stood out to us, so friendly and helpful. Alvaro who works in guest services and Enmanuel (Cueto) from the beach bar and breakfast. They are both a credit to the hotel. We will definitely return.

Our stay at Zel Punta Cana was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The resort is beautiful, modern, spacious, and impeccably clean. The atmosphere is relaxing, the staff is welcoming, and there are so many activities to enjoy throughout the day. A special shoutout to Mr. Fish—if you visit, you have to find him! He is incredibly energetic, hilarious, and knows how to keep everyone entertained. His positive attitude and enthusiasm made our vacation even more memorable. If you’re looking to have fun, laugh, and make the most of your stay, he’s definitely your guy! Overall, we had an unforgettable experience and can’t wait to come back. I highly recommend Zel Punta Cana to anyone looking for a perfect mix of relaxation, great service, and nonstop fun!

The staff was amazing, especially Emanuel, who was incredibly kind, welcoming and professional. His positive energy and genuine hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. It’s rare to meet someone who is so dedicated to making guests feel comfortable and valued.

It was a great experience, staff were overall friendly, food was great buffet and restaurant. Room was an overall great place.
