Hôtel globalement correct mais sans les petits détails attendus pour un 4 étoiles. Situation un peu excentrée, il faut chercher l'accès vers le centre de Baveno en evitant la route. La proximite du lac doit être agréable en plein été mais ce n'est pas une plage plutôt un ponton. Piscine froide alors que à la même saison il y a des piscines chauffées ! Gros point noir : le restaurant. Cher, plats peu copieux et presque mauvais, carte limitée avec beaucoup de surgelés.

We had the most beautiful suite with an amazing view! Corner room with a double balcony so you could get into or out of the sun. The room was huge with lots of seating and a very nice ensuite Along with our room came 2 reserved day beds under a retractable covering right next to the lake, with of coarse amazing views. The pool was cold but still warmer than Lake Maggiore. I jumped into both! Great morning breakfast!! It was a magical hotel! I would highly recommend a visit here

Hôtel labellisé 4 étoiles, label largement surfait. Tout y est payant, même les parapluies, et le parking obligatoire est à 20 €/24 h. L’emplacement est parfait, mais la chambre haut de gamme donnant sur le lac Majeur ne comporte ni cafetière, ni peignoirs, ni chaussons, le réfrigérateur ne peut s’ouvrir qu’avec la carte-clé, et il est vide. L’internet est gratuit mais plafonné à 5 Go. Quant au restaurant de l’hôtel, la cuisine y est fade et sans saveur. Il est largement préférable d’aller à l’Osteria à 300 m face à l’embarcadère pour les îles Boromées, où les tarifs sont plus bas pour une cuisine bien plus qualitative.

Beautifully situated grand old hotel with commanding views across the lake. Very friendly, helpful & polite staff. The rooms & communal areas have been tastefully updated with modern touches. Lovely to be able to relax on the terraces or on a sun lounger down by the lake & swim. The swimming pool is rather oddly situated & is probably not quite in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The tennis court has an amazing view but the surface needs some tlc & it costs Euros20 an hour to play. It was a little disappointing that neither access to the gym nor the health/wellness area were included in the overnight stay. Again one had to pay extra for those. It would be worthwhile ******* making that clear.

Hotel splendid was good but we encountered a few minor issues.
My request for non feathers was not met until a few days into the trip even though I’d sent an email request prior to my stay. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Hard mattress and pillows like sacks. After a polite request they did change the pillows and covers. Another downfall was ants in my room. Not just one or two but quite a few. Not great, some crawling on my bed.
Food was ok, not the best I’ve had and was never piping hot, always luke warm. Breakfast was ok but again I’ve had better.
The hotel staff were lovely. The hotel as a whole looks very impressive, traditional and grand.
The private beach and seating area outside are great. A few loose decking pieces around the pool which could be dangerous. My son stood on a few with his bare feet. There was also a leaks in the main lobby and a musty damp smell along the corridor to our room which was often busy with people on conferences in the rooms off the corridor.
Spa was nice and relaxing although a water station is needed especially after a sauna!

Staff available and smiling, beautiful infrastructure (clean, maintained...). On the other hand, hotel chosen because with a beautiful gym which turns out to be extra (information not noted in the description of the hotel, whereas for parking or breakfast it is very clear). If I had this information I would not have chosen this hotel, favoring a more strategic and less eccentric position (compromise that I was willing to accept for the room). Nice setting but we just need to ask for extra to breathe too. Really disappointed with the services.
