Baveno Hotels with Wi-Fi

This is a beautiful hotel in Baveno by Lake Maggorie. We stayed here for 3 nights and the best of all hotels we had stayed with Insight Vacations’ Country Roads of Northern Italy Tour from 26 July to 5 August. Facilities here are good with a swimming pool, beaches, gym, sauna etc. Breakfast was good by European standards. There’s also a music fountain at the entrance to hotel with nightly shows. Hotel staff were also friendly and helpful. There’s plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from. However, the drawbacks are that the hotel rooms have no coffee machines, only 1 bottle each of complimentary water for the 1st day, and with no slippers provided. Also, there’s a charge of € 12 for the use of each facility such as gym, sauna etc, which in many other hotels are provided free of charge!

The hotel is situated on a peninsula so the views overlooking the lake are absolutely stunning. The entrance & bar area are beautiful and the reception staff very welcoming. My gluten free requirements were met for breakfast, with fruits, yoghurts, eggs, meats, cheeses & a separate GF section with bread, cereal, cake etc., just a shame there was not a separate toaster. We ate at the hotel for one evening meal, but the choice was quite limited & we felt it very expensive for the food & service received. There is no tea or coffee facilities in the room (as with many Italian hotels), but there was a cold water machine in the reception area to refill bottles. The pool, seating & deck areas were immaculate & not overly busy. Our room was clean, comfortable and a good size. The bathroom, although a little small was clean & the shower worked well. The balcony was the best part & spoiled us each morning with the beautiful vista. It was a 10 minute walk into Baveno, where we found the ferry service, boat trips, and a choice of bars & restaurants. There was also a well stocked supermarket just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. All in all it was a lovely hotel in a great location & would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about going to Lake Maggiore. Just note the transfer from MXP airport can be quite expensive if you are getting a taxi or private car.

The first thing we noticed on entering our 3rd floor room, was the stunning view and balcony. However, this was dampened on opening the balcony doors due to the noise from the road in front of us. Clearly the main road in the area. This will not suit people looking for a lake view + serenity. Having said this, the hotel is good value and barely 10 minutes walk to the lakeside via some lovely public gardens. A supermarket is also 5 minutes walk for those wanting to stock up for picnic lunches. It was a short, flat walk from the train station and similar into the main Bavano town. The room did not have a mini fridge. The other downside was that they switched off air-conditioning in September and switched on heating. The temperature during our stay was still high (from a Britsh perspective) and we would have enjoyed the option of aircon. Especially at night where the desire was to keep the window closed to reduce noise. We asked for, and were speedily given, a fan - which helped. Breakfast was ample and the staff were friendly. The rooms were kept clean and you could see a pride in the hotel. No tea/coffee maling facilities in the room, but this seems common in Italy from our small experience. Overall we found the hotel to be be very good value for money and enjoyed our 3 night stay.

We loved this hotel. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We had two rooms with a beautiful shared balcony and the most amazing view - sunrise over the Borromee islands on Lago Maggiore. Great location, close to the motorway and a one hour drive to Milan if you want a change of scene after sightseeing around the lake. Breakfast was quite copious and a great start to the day.
