My daughter and I booked a 2 day spa break at this hotel, and our experience was without exception was positive. On arrival the check in was friendly informative and efficient, and our room was excellent. 2 doubles beds, very clean, warm and well stocked with the extras on the tea tray and in the bathroom. The bathroom was lovely with a hug heated mirror on the wall was which didn’t steam up when we showered, and a makeup mirror which is perfect if your sight isn’t as good as it could be. Yes there was a little bit of wear around the bath, but it was clean, and there were plenty of large soft towels. We ate in the restaurant both nights and while the menu isn’t huge, there is something for everyone, including gluten free which I was very glad of, and food was beautifully presented by very efficient and friendly staff. The breakfast offering was superb and we couldn’t think of anything else we could have wanted. The spa area was very appealing, with a lovely quiet relaxing room for before and after your treatment, so no children allowed, soft lighting and soft music with heated relaxation beds are almost too comfy to leave. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all of an excellent standard, and again the staff were so nice. We each had a Swedish massage and this was a gorgeous experience with great masseuse’s, and we spent the whole afternoon in the spa. It also has a lounge area at reception, which if you’ve booked treatments has free hot drinks and flavoured waters, you can also use this area and purchase the drinks if you haven’t booked a treatment. Overall a great hotel and spa and we will certainly return, and we can wholeheartedly recommend it. I have one suggestion which the hotel may find useful. The pillows on the beds in our room were all firm, and as front sleepers we needed soft pillows. I asked at reception and they were delivered to our room with no problem, however maybe there could be both firm and soft pillows in each room.
