OYO Hotel Wilkes-Barre East

normally do not write reviews, but I had to this time. Please know I only stayed there because I had been driving for 2 days with only 1 hour of sleep. I would have left if I had any more strength to stay woke. I arrived at the hotel around 12:30am-12:45am. I was given the key to room 2. As soon as I walked in, I noticed how cold it was, so I look for anything that could turn up the heat. Found a thermostat, that was blocked at 68 degrees you could not turn the heat up any further. Then I pulled the comforter back to make sure it appeared clean. There was something on the comforter that looked like poop. The shower and toilet were so badly stained. Then to top it off there was a noticed on the door to no drink the water. Now if I cannot drink the water then why would I use it to brush my teeth or wash my body with contaminated water? When I went to the front office to express my grievance, she gave me the keys to room 16. Guess what, that room was cold. But the bed was better. But the toilet, shower, and sink were stained as well. Both bathrooms need to be replaced. We slept in our coats, hats, and gloves to stay warm. This was such a horrible experience. I am disappointed with Oyo hotels in Wilkes-Barre they really need to do better. My overall thoughts are to close this hotel down for a much needed make over!

I’d like to start by saying something nice, the young woman who eventually came to the front desk to check me in was pleasant and kinda cute in her pajamas and fresh nails. The pit bull behind counter was really sweet…. he was probably warning me to stay away… the lot is overflowing with trash, the pictures on the sight are not anything like the current dilapidated premises… there was hot water, but no heat, the rush of the near by highway traffic was soothing as tried to stay warm under two overused blankets. The pillows would have been fine if they weren’t so thin.. the floor hadn’t been swept, the bathroom .. the shower was covered in mold and brown stains… the sink had a century of hard water stains.. a mouse hole in the anti room was filled with the extra wash cloth.. the microwave, I am b pretty sure whatever was growing in it barked at me when I opened the door… pass this property by… sleep in a dumpster it will be better I am certain of it

Would not refund my deposit. Wanted me to text photos of my card and ID. I slept on top of the covers with all of my clothes on. It was frigid even with the heat turned all the way up. Will never stay at another OYO, let alone this location.

Checked in, told no towels in room. Staff bought some with a remote. Remote had dead battery, staff told me a fresh battery would be delivered. It wasn't. One light blanket on bed, room was cold. Extra thin blanket drlivered.. Thermostat difficult to figure out. Room stayed very cool. Substandard property.

I arrived at the property and there was no one in the office. Rang the bell and waited about 10 minutes but never saw anyone and never checked in so I went elsewhere.

Horrible everything OMG never again terrible service. Dirty place bad service. Drug use type of environment. Don’t stay! Please!

The woman was friendly. It’s just not very coordinated. Also super cheap so wasn’t expecting a lot. The AC unit had air fresheners on it to cover the smell. The door only locks via deadbolt, the knob lock doesn’t work. The beds were clean. Idk, it was ok considering it’s only $130 for 2 nights.
